有人说技术发展能减少犯罪，而其他人说技术发展将鼓励犯罪。讨论双边观点，给出你的立场。

这是一道双边类大作文，题目不算难，讨论的是科技是减少了犯罪还是增加了犯罪。双边讨论类的题目，可以自由讨论双方各自的利弊。这道题目中双边观点完全对立，甲方技术发展减少犯罪，而乙方认为技术发展加剧了犯罪，我的选择是双边支持，看不同情况而定。

下面月半鸭和大家一起来看下具体观点。

科技的发展确实增加了许多新的犯罪手段，诸如黑客攻击、个人信息盗用、网络诈骗等，都是采用了新的技术才能实现。同时，罪犯可以通过跨境犯罪或是伪造IP地址，增加执法者追查和抓捕的成本与难度，这也助长了犯罪的发生。

但是，科技也起到了遏制犯罪的作用。主要从两方面，

一是警方可以通过监控系统、人脸识别、鉴证技术等增加对于罪犯的追捕和定罪能力，而对于跨国犯罪也可以通过各国的联网与信息共享来共同追捕。犯罪成本的上升也能够有效减少潜在的犯罪行为。

二是科技发展使得一些犯罪无法再进行，比如电子支付的流行，使得人们不再带钱包和现金，进而使得扒手因为没有偷盗目标而消亡。

Some people assume that technology advances can escalate crimes, while others say the development serves to curb illegal activities. From my perspective, both views have their justification, depending on the viewpoints from which we see the causal mechani*.

On the one hand, there are reasons as to why some people associate technology breakthrough with increased criminal activities. For those who think in this way, they tend to assume the advent of digital tools provides would-be offenders with more opportunities to break laws, whether these be Internet fraud, or computer hacking. To complicate matters even worse, the widespread use of the Internet also makes it easier for criminals to do illegal business outside of their own countries.

While the above reasoning does have its plausibility, I also agree with the opinion that technological development can be also used to curb crimes. Whether technological advance is a curse or blessing to law breakers is the outcome of complex causal configurations that act conjointly in the real world; the same technology that exacerbates crimes may also lead to positive results when joined by other factors. Back to the computer crimes, police force can also take advantage of digital technology to track the information of offenders, e.g., their personal identification, or account information. By the same token, the Internet allows different countries to collaborate more closely in fighting cross-border crimes.

From what has been discussed above, it is my conclusion therefore, the relevance of technological progression to crimes can be considered from both positive and negative perspectives.
