雅思口语Part one & three话题预测

Topic 1: Dictionary
1. Do you often use dictionary?(*)
2. Is dictionary important to you?(**)(M1)
3. Do you prefer a paper dictionary or an electronic one?(****)(M2)
For Q1: Yes, I do. I’m a student studying English, so I often use it whenever there is a difficult word.
For Q2: Yes, it’s very important to me because a good dictionary provides definitions and examples of how an English word is used. So I can master it naturally.
For Q3: I prefer electronic dictionaries which are user-friendly and portable, while it’s time-consuming to use a paper dictionary.

Topic 2: Lateness and Punctuality
1. Are you often late?(*)
2. Is being punctual important? Why?(***)
For Q1: No, I am a punctual person, and I  always try to arrive 15 minutes early for important occasions.
For Q2: I think it’s very important to be on time because it gives people a good impression(it shows respect, trustworthiness and professionali*).

Topic 3: Language
1. Is it difficult to learn English?(**)(M1,2)
2. Besides English, do you speak another language?(**)(M1)
3. What have you done for learning English? (***)(M3)
For Q1: English is very difficult for me because I always forget the words I’ve just memorized(M1).
Well, it depends. For those with good foundation or talents, learning English is easy. However, people like me may find it difficult, because I am lazy and hate study.(M2)
For Q3: I’ve done a lot for it. For example, I attended English classes, bought a lot of books and even found an American girlfriend!

Topic 4: Daily Routine
1. Which part of the day do you like most, morning, afternoon or evening?(*)(M1)
2. What do you like to do during that period?(*)
3. Do you have any good habits? Who taught you those? (**)(M4)
For Q1,2: I like the evening most because I am off work and can enjoy doing my favorite stuff at home such as…….
For Q3: I’ve got many good habits, but one of the most important is jogging every morning. My father took me running when I was 8 years old. He told me that joggers will stay young and live longer.

Topic 5: Online shopping
Q1: Do you like online shopping?(*)
Q2: What are the advantages?(**)(M2)
Q3: Will online shopping replace street shopping in the future?(***)(M1)
For Q1,2: Yes, I do. It is very convenient to shop on the Internet, and the goods there often come at a much lower price. I personally hate walking on the street for hours just for a pair of jeans!
For Q3: I don’t think so. I believe there are still people who prefer seeing the products in person before they pay. Besides, not everyone is good at using computer. So I think there will still be room for street shopping in the future.

Topic 6: Clothing
Q1: What kind of clothes do you like?(**)(M1)
Q2: Does the color affect your decisions on what to buy?(**)(M1)
Q3: What is the difference between the clothes now and before?(***)(M2)
For Q1: I like casual clothes. Wearing them makes me feel comfortable and relaxed.
For Q2: Yes, I prefer clothes with dark colors because I don’t want people’s attention when I am walking outside. I also dislike colorful clothes; they look flashy!
For Q3: In the past, people wore simple and single-colored clothes, and most of them were made in China. However, the clothes now come in different styles, colors and from different countries.

Topic 7: Photography
1. Do you like taking pictures? Why?(**)(M1)
2. Is being a photographer a desirable occupation?(***)(M1)
3. What is the difference between paper photos and digital photos?(***)(M3)
For Q1: No, I don’t. I don’t think I have what it takes, and the pictures I take are ugly.
For Q2: It has to be because taking pictures doesn’t seem to take much effort, and the pay is usually good.
For Q3: Paper photos can be easily damaged and the color will fade, while the same things can never happen to digital ones. They can last forever!

Topic 8: TV Programs
1. What types of TV program do you like?(**) (M1)
2. What types are popular in China?(**)(M3)
3. What is the difference between young people and the old when watching TV?(**)(M2)
For Q1: I personally prefer Sports/Documentary/Soap opera (TV drama)/Cartoon/Travel/News/Cookery/Reality (Talent)/Match making…….
For Q2: I think match making shows are really popular in China, especially with older women. The reason is probably that anything related to love and relationships is so interesting to watch!
For Q3: Young people like to change channels all the time because nothing seems to keep their attention, while old people don’t often do that. But, they sometimes doze off in front of the TV!

Topic 9: Music
1. What Types of music do you like to  listen to? (**)(M1)
2. Where do you listen to music? (*)(M1)
3. Do children need to learn to play a kind of musical instrument? (***)(M2)
For Q1: I like Pop/Blues/Rock/Rap/R&B/Jazz/Country/Classical…music.
For Q2: I listen to music on my cell phone on my way to school/work. It makes the trip fast and pleasant.
For Q3: I think it depends on whether the children are interested or have the talent or not. It’d be a waste of time and money if the children thought playing an instrument is boring and too difficult.

Topic 10: Birthday
1. What do people do on their birthday?(*)(M3)
2. Is birthday still important to you?(**)(M1)
3. Do Chinese people celebrate their birthdays?(**)(M2)
For Q1: People hold parties with friends, go to a restaurant for a big meal, eat birthday cake or sing karaoke.
For Q2: Birthdays are very important to me because they are good opportunities for me to hang out with friends, and they give me best wishes, which make me feel loved.
For Q3: young people and old people usually celebrate their birthdays with friends or offspring, but the middle-aged are busy with their work or family, so they sometimes don’t remember to celebrate birthdays.

Topic 11: Advertisement
1. Are there many ads in your hometown?

2. What do you think of advertisements?

3. Are you easily influenced by ads?(**)(M1)
For Q1: There are lots of advertisements anywhere you go- on TV, Internet, in newspapers, or even on the streets you walk.
For Q2: I think advertisements are annoying! I am constantly interrupted by them when watching my favorite TV shows.
For Q3: I don’t think so, because I think they are just liars just for making money!

Topic 12: Trees and Forest
1. Are there many trees where you live?

2. What kind of trees do Chinese people like?

3. Do you have famous forests in your city?(***) (M3)
For Q1: There are not. I live the the city, and large amounts of trees are usually in the suburbs or the countryside.
For Q2: To my knowledge, none of the people I know like any special kind of trees. I believe most of Chinese people think trees are good material for making furniture and can protect us for the sunlight. That’s it!
For Q3: I don’t think so, but I know of a forest park in Yangpu district, people go there to have their wedding photos taken.

Topic 13: Plants
1. Do you know much about plants?(**)(M1)
2. How to grow plants?(***)(M4)
3. Have you planted anything?(**)(M3)
For Q1: Honestly, not much! We Chinese live in apartment buildings so we don’t grow flowers and vegetables in the garden like westerners do.
For Q2: I just know we need to put the seeds in the ground and water them.
For Q3: I remember I planted trees at school, but it was simple and easy- all I did was place the tree in the hole I dug and put the dirt back with a shovel.

Topic 14: Animals
1. What kinds of pets do Chinese people keep? (**)(M3)
2. Do you like going to the zoo?(**)(M1)
3. What are the benefit of children going to the zoo?(**)(M1)
For Q1: Chinese people like to have dogs, cats, rabbits and sometimes birds, tortoises and even pigs.
For Q2: I don’t. The animals there have bad *ells.
For Q3: well, going to the zoo, children can be close to the nature so that they can cultivate a sense of lovingness. They can also have the opportunity to see the animals that often appear on TV.

Topic 15: Politeness
1. Is being polite important? (**)(M1)
2. Who taught you to be polite?(**)(M3)
3. On what occasions do people need to be polite?(**)(M4)
For Q1: It is very important for us to be polite because no one wants to be with rude people! I don’t wanna be lonely!
For Q2: My mom when I was a kid; my teachers when I was at school; people around me when I’m in public.
For Q3: Actually we need to be polite all the time, but politeness is especially important when in an interview like this!

Topic 16: History
1. When did you start to learn history?(*)(M3)
2. Do you like it?(*)(M1)
3. Do you learn history on the Internet?(**)(M1)
4. Which historical figure or event do you like most? (***)
For Q1: I began to learn history when I was in middle school. We used to have history class every week.
For Q2: No. It was boring, and the teacher was just trying to put facts in our head.
For Q3: No. when I am on-line, there are so many interesting things there, such as…….
For Q4: I like Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of Qin dynasty. He came to the throne and unified China over 2000 years ago. One of his most important feats was the building of the Great Wall of China!
