雅思听力难点解析之＂地图题＂

雅思听力中的地图题在现在的雅思考中占据明显的地位，在英剑桥出版的CAMBRIDGE IELTS 8中，几乎每一套题都有地图题。那我们就来关注一下地图题的解题方法。

地图题对一部分雅思考生来讲是听力中较难的一种题型。一些考生说我平常连中文地图的东南西北和左右都分不清，再加上英文就更糊涂了。所以考生在学习解答地图题之前，应多熟悉一些表示方向的词汇及表达方法。

地图题一般在考中分为两类：
①路线题。问路的背景，介绍公园、商场、学校位置等的背景。在问路的背景中，指路者往往用left，right指明方向，考生做题时切记要以speaker前进方向为左右，而不应以看题视角为左右，要有立体感。
②方位题。没有街道，是通过建筑物之间的方位关系找出答案地点的，在地图中通常用方框来代替建筑物，因此又叫方框题。起始点为说话人的位置，经常是人称的“我”。

【解题思路技巧】

A 先看图中的图例、指向标、说明文字及图中已出现的信息。若无指向标，则根据地图常识上北下南、左西右东，依次在地图上标出四个方向。
B 找到起始点 (starting point)。起始点对于解答地图题起着至关重要的作用。根据考的出题规则，起始点一般分为两种类型：
① 路线题：起始点经常为gate/entrance/main hall/conference center/exit等等。 有一点需要特别注意的是，当起始点位于地图上方的时候，要当心说话人的左右方向和我们眼睛观察的方向正好相反。
② 方位题：起始点为说话人所在的位置。有时会有箭头或者星号标示you are here.这些在读题的时候就可以发现。如果图上这些标记都没有，考生要特别留心听录音的开头提示语，比如now we are standing at……/now we are starting from……。
C 扫描地图中的街道名，建筑物名以及路名。以做到无论提及哪条街或者哪个建筑物，都能快速反应并且定位到。
D 跟着speaker画线路图或寻找方位。
① 路线题：跟随录音指示，边听边划线路，注意听方位词和序数词。比如，take the second turning on the left, 就要把握好序数词second（二个路口转）以及方位词left(向左转)。
② 方位题：注意表示方向的词汇。即east/south/west/north/left/right等。难点在于复合方向，比如northwest, southeast, top-right-hand corner 等等。因此要熟练掌握每一个复合方向的位置。如northwest应该为左上角，southeast应该为右下角，top-right-hand corner应该为右上角。这些都需要勤加练习，才能在考中做到快速反应。

E 地图题符合地图的成比例缩小原则，即现实生活中什么大，到地图上也什么大。比如supermarket就会在地图上显得比较大。如果某个方框画了很多格，一般暗示此建筑物需要填写复数格式，如剑桥41套section2的20空，原文中说The row of buildings you can see on the left are the cottages，所以答案为复数cottages。

F 模式一致
考生应注意填写答案时大小写应和地图中的图例一致。

Step 1 读题预测，划关键词
1. 确定起始点，要先判断地图的类型。此地图清楚地列有街道和路名，所以是路线题。路线题的起始点有三种：gate/exit/entrance，此图的Convention Center处存在entrance，因此entrance处是起始点。但此题的起始点在上方，又是路线题，所以如果出现左右，必然和我们的左右相反，听时要加以小心。
2. 扫一下地图的建筑物和街道，我们要通过它们找到题目要求的地点。我们看到的街名有King St, William St, Queen St和Elizabeth St，建筑物有Convention Center, Hero’s Arch, church, underground station, bank和post office。
3. 看地图的周围：没有指向标也没有图例，说明不会听到东南西北这样的方向词，如有方向很可能是左或右。
4. 由于是路线题，我们可以边听边用笔划出方向找到答案。

Step 2 听录音分析做题
1. 先听到关键词 The Jumbo Sandwich Shop ， From the centre just turn right, up King Street, and turn left into Queen Street. 从center出来右转至皇后街，Go along Queen Street until you get to the William Street, then turn right沿着皇后街一直走到威廉大街然后再次右转. You’ll spot it right next to the William Street underground station. Jumbo Sandwich Shop就在地铁站旁边，所以答案选择C
2. 然后听到关键词Slim’s Vegetarian， Just turn left as you leave the centre into King Street, cross over Elizabeth Street,右转到王街然后穿过伊丽莎白街 and it’s on your left, directly opposite the church Slim’s Vegetarian就在左手边，教堂对面，所以答案选择E
3. 后听到关键词 The Geneva Bistro ， It’s located behind the church on William Street. 在教堂背后，位于威廉大街，所以答案为G
