3.20雅思大作文:警察配枪不会加剧社会暴力

有人说如果警察配枪，将会加剧社会暴力问题。同意反对？

这是一道观点类大作文，看到很多同学说见到题目就蒙了，因为这道题目讨论的内容确实离我们生活比较远，导致想不到论点。

这里大家要记住一个技巧点，在写观点类大作文时候，多数主观的思维都或多或少会有逻辑谬误，所以这类题型，都是建议选择反对的立场比较合理。像这道题目的逻辑错误在于题目的前提和结论之间并无必然性：社会暴力问题和警察配枪无必然联系。

我们先来看为什么对方会产生这个观点。

这些年我们一直说中国处于一个盛世，犯罪率低、生活安全、百姓对于警察的信任度比较高，因此大家很难想象这个观点。但是，在国外有些地方，群众可能对警察的信任度很低，或者警察本身可能与群众处于对立面，因此警察配枪在百姓眼中可能本身具有危险性。除了上面这个少数情况外还有两个原因，一方面，警察配枪可能会被认为是治安恶化的信号，这会引发群众的恐慌甚至购枪自卫（在允许民间持枪的地方），而民间*泛滥可能进一步导致暴力升级。另一方面，如果对于警察使用*的管理不完善，可能会导致警察对于*的滥用，比如为了自身利益使用*威胁他人。或者警察在面对主观上认定的危险时，使用*但伤害到无辜群众（大家看美国的新闻经常能看到这一类）。

那么，我们反对的原因有两个。

首先就是开头说到的，社会暴力问题和警察配枪缺乏必然联系。社会暴力问题或者罪犯的产生可能是由多方面因素造成的，比如经济不好导致失业人口过多进而催生了犯罪，或者法律不完善、无法有效对犯罪进行处罚导致犯罪成本过低也会催生犯罪，等等。因此将社会暴力问题简单的和警察持枪挂钩是不合理的。

其次，警察配枪并且在合理规范的管理下是可以有效遏制犯罪问题。警察配枪本身对于罪犯是有威慑作用，可以阻止部分潜在的犯罪想法，或是逮捕罪犯时使对方放弃反抗。而面对暴力程度高或者本身持有杀伤性武器的罪犯，枪使得警察能够有效地与之对抗将其制服，以及防止对方伤害无辜的百姓的生命和财产。

It is assumed that if a policeman is armed with guns, it will give rise to more violent society; however, I will disagree with this claim due to the irrelevant connections behind the claim.

There seems to be reasons as to why the gun ownership of the police begets the apprehension about further violence around us. Those who think in this way may point to several potential pitfalls as consequences of arming the police force – the act may be interpreted by the populace as a symptom of unsafe society, which tends to stimulate a frenzy of possessing arms among the majority for the sake of self-protection – it will inevitably exacerbate the abuse of weapons in society. To complicate matter even more, police officers are prone to misuse of guns in dealing with tricky conditions in public, which might injure or even kill innocent bystanders.

Plausible though the above misgivings seem, it is difficult for me to see societal violence as a consequence of equipping the police with guns. The problem with the fear is the lack of causal link between the premise and conclusion – those critics are oblivious to the fact that the violent crime is a complicate conundrum that should have been attributed to various causations, whether these be inadequate governmental supervision over weapon deals, or the influence of media violence on impressionable adolescents. By contrast, the police can use guns as an effective deterrent to potential lawbreakers and scare off the would-be criminals, thus may reduce the crime rate to a large extent.

From what has been discussed above, I don’t believe it is reasonable to attribute the violent affliction in society to the gun ownership of the police.
