如上图所示，在所有小作文的题目要求中都有这样一句，make comparisons where relevant，这就要求我们在将找到的特征进行比较和对比，注意comparisons一词既包含比较相同点也包括对比不同点。所以，考生们应当充分了解每一类题型可以进行compare的点都有哪些。以下将为大总结动态图中的comparison.

动态图指的是有时间变化的题目，是考频率高的一类，可能以柱，线，表，饼各种形式呈现出来。这类题目的主要内容是描述趋势，同时挑选数据进行比较。

一、趋势描述中的comparison

1.基本趋势：上升，下降和持平不变

类似的趋势比较相同点，用Similarly这样的逻辑连接词；不同的趋势进行对比，用while/However这样的连接词。如下图，既有类比也有对比。

此外，对于相同的趋势除了类比，我们还可以进一步对比。这时需要用到幅度的对比。

-The consumption of fish also declined, but much less significantly to just below 50 grams

-A more dramatic rise is predicted between 2030 and 2040 in Japan

此外，一个对象自己的趋势幅度如果有变化，也可以对比一下。

-National and international fixed line calls grew steadily from 38 billion to 61 billion minutes at the end of the period in question, though the growth slowed over the last two years.

-There was a dramatic rise in mobile calls from 2 billion to 46 billion minutes. This rise was particularly noticeable between 1999 and 2002.

2复杂趋势

有的趋势不是始终持续而是中间发生变化，例如先上升后下降，或先下降后上升。

Expenditure on resources such as books had increased to 20% by 1991 before decreasing to only 9% by the end of the period. In contrast, the cost of furniture and equipment saw an opposite trend. This cost decreased to only 5% of total expenditure in 1991 but rose dramatically in 2001 when it represented 23% of the school budget.

二、数据中的comparison

1．值对比(大值和小值)

-In 1979, beef was by far the most popular of these foods, with about 225 grams consumed per person per week, while much less fish was consumed (just over 50 grams)

2.同关系(数值类似)

-A more dramatic rise is predicted between 2030 and 2040 in Japan, by which time it is thought that the proportion of elderly people will be similar in the three countries.

-Lamb and chicken were eaten in similar quantities (around 150 grams)

3 倍数关系(终点和起点的对比)

-There was a dramatic rise in mobile calls from 2 billion to 46 billion minutes. This rise was particularly noticeable between 1999 and 2002, during which time the use of mobile phones tripled.

4 回到原点(终点和起点几乎一致)

-After peaking at 90 billion the following year, these calls had fallen back to the 1995 figure by 2002.
