所谓添加解释，就是在提出文章论点后，有可能出现读者无法立刻理解文章作者（也就是考生）观点的情况，或者说考生逻辑出现或大或小的跳跃，使得读者可能不明白论点的逻辑关系，此时就需要添加一些解释，使得读者能够清楚地理解考生的论点，弥补逻辑方面的漏洞。我们先以一个跟教育相关的论点为例：

论点：Young people should pursue a university degree straight after graduation.

（毕业后青年人应该去读大学。）

为了论证这一观点，我们除了可以通过添加背景说明为什么读大学有着不可避免的社会现实（攻略一添加背景法），还可以通过解释来说明大学的重要性，尤其是它带给青年人不可或缺的知识以及能力。比如说，在大学里，青年人能够学习专业知识，与同龄人探讨问题，参加社团活动培养团队合作能力以及解决问题的能力等，而这些都是日后步入社会以及寻求进一步发展所需要的知识与能力，也是大学教育的重要之所在。

添加解释：In university, young people can learn a wide range of theories related to their future fields in the first place. They are also encouraged to discuss hot issues with their peers, provided with opportunities to join in social clubs and educated to solve problems cooperatively and creatively. These knowledge and skills are quite essential for their future career prospects.

添加这样一个解释，立马就会突出青年人接受大学教育的优势：不仅可以获得知识还可以培养能力。这样一来，用大学教育带给青年人的好处间接解释说明了青年人高中毕业后应该直接读大学的论点。同理，在其它适合的主题下，考生也可以合理适度的添加解释。在此额外列举两个例子。

示例1（电脑游戏）：

论点：Too much screen time can pose a threat to the development of next generation.

(过度玩游戏对下一代有害。)

添加解释：This is mainly because video games can create a virtual world with eye-catching story line which is quite different from the real-life world. These games may motivate children to achieve new targets continually and focus on getting a higher score than their peers. Due to these highly addictive and engaging games, children who are involved may have less sleep and get poor grade at school.

示例2（科技）：

论点：The use of mobile phones is beneficial to people in their daily life.

(*能给人们的日常生活带了益处。)

添加解释：People can keep in touch with each other through mobile phones, and the social apps within *art phones, including Wechat, Facebook and Twitter, enable them to make new friends to expand their social network. When facing thorny problems, they can get support from those friends they have made through mobile devices.
