雅思大作文参考范例之犯罪类

犯罪（Crime）也是雅思大作文可能出现的话题之一。但由于这部分内容可能比较脱离考生的实际生活，所以写起来不如环境类、教育类话题那么的得心应手。因此老师具体以一篇范文为例，介绍一下如何应对此类题目。

People in all modern societies use drugs, but today’s youth are experimenting with both legal and illegal drugs, and at an increasingly early age, some sociologists claim that parents and other members of the society often set a bad example.
Discuss the causes and some effects of widespread drug use by young people in our modern society. Make any recommendations you feel are necessary to help fight youth drug abuse.

1 The most important reason why youth drug abuse is so prevalent in today’s society is the spiritual emptiness on the part of many youngsters. Other causes of widespread youth drug abuse also must be taken into account. 2 There is no doubt that youth drug abuse is a serious social problem and has produced a lot of negative effects on our society. The most severe consequence is the rapid increase of juvenile delinquencies committed by youths taking drugs. With the high incidence of youth drug cases, many once-happy families have been on the verge of collapse, which will inevitably disrupt social order and jeopardize social security and even national stability. On the other hand, young drug addicts also suffer a lot. They have various symptoms, such as progressive thinning, damage to their vital organs, and general deterioration of health. In short, as an old saying goes, drugs turn humans to beasts.

3 However, this social problem is not an incurable one. The most effective solution, in my opinion, is to promote the public awareness of the devastating harm brought by illegal drugs. Another approach is for the police to strike hard against drug-trafficking and impose heavier penalty on drug-related crimes. As to those adolescent addicts, the top priority is to set up some rehabilitation centers to give them sufficient medical care and restore their physical and spiritual health. Furthermore, we can invite some ex-addicts to give a presentation, warning the public of the destructive power with their own painful experience.
