Some people believe that spending on celebrating birthdays or weddings is a waste of money, but some argue that these celebrations can benefit both individuals and society. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, many people are fond of holding different kinds of celebrations, such as wedding parties and birthday parties to share their happiness with families and friends. Some people think it is a waste of money, while others believe it is necessary to holding celebrations. Personally, I am in favor of celebrating crucial events.

Some people insist that if people pay a large amount of money on celebrations, there will be a growing trend toward flaunting wealth through these events. They believe they can show their material wealth, for instance, some items such as luxury watches and brand bags are given as gifts to show their status. More often than not, others will keep up with the trend and pursue an extravagant lifestyle. Besides, squandering money on birthdays or parties may cause people to lose virtue of thrift. The harmful consequence is that such practice may create financial pressure and they may even find difficult to pay off debts. This is especially the case for young people who just work for the short time and those from disadvantaged backgrounds or low-income families.

An alternative point of view is that luxurious celebrations play an important role in social life, the host of the party of celebration invite friends to those events, where they can exchange news such as latest job information and keep in contact with each other. This provides them with opportunities to find contentment in socialization and to maintain a strong relationship with friends and families.

In brief, I believe celebrations is the integral part of social life, although it takes some money to holding. If people can well control the consuming on parties, they can find it is no harmful but beneficial for individual and whole society.
