Your company sent you abroad to take a course and you want to extend your stay there. Write a letter to your manager.

In your letter, you should tell:

what the beneﬁts of this course are
what the reasons you want to stay more time
when you will back.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to inform about the change in my circumstances which have constrained me to extend my stay here in Boston. Allow me to elaborate.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to take the Data Mining Course here at Northwestern University. The faculty here is one of the renowned faculties in the world. The course has really helped me to hone up my skills and get a better understanding of how to do the task efficiently.

Further, the University is considering offering me a co-op opportunity with a renowned multinational company. The professor did not ask me for consent and is now emphasizing that I accept the offer and showcase my talent to them. As such, I would have to accept the co-op and resultant which I would have to stay in Boston for a few more months.

The co-op period is 3 months and it is due to start next week and I am anticipating that I would be able to resume work with the company latest by 20th December 2021.
