Dear Suhana,

I hope this letter finds you in sheer good health. I am pleased to inform you that my marriage has been fixed with a boy who I like and know since three years. His name is Gaurav Singh, he is also a Doctor indeed, we both met in the “Green Valley” Hospital around three years ago and gradually our friendship upgraded to immense love. Though, he belongs to a Punjabi family however, our family members are quite supportive and optimistic about this relationship as he is extremely humble, honest, handsome person and seem to be a perfect match for me.

Furthermore, Wedding is on 8th December but Ring ceremony is on 6th December. My parents have been planning a lot for this day since long so, it is the time for them to make their dreams come true. Thus, they have arranged for a big fat glorified Indian Wedding which will be an excellent blend of western and traditional programmes. For instance, there will be a Musical night on 7th December in which a popular Bollywood singer is going to perform. Last but not the least, you will be able to taste a slew of savoury dishes which are rare to find in Canada.

I am very keen to see you in all the functions because you have been my best friend since seventeen years and I want to share my happiness about this significant event of my life with people who are close to my heart.

Hi Lizzy,

I hope you are fine. My wedding ceremony is coming up in two months time and I am writing to invite you to the event.

The woman I am getting married to is a tall, fair, beautiful young lady, who is in her early twenties. I met her during a charity event, organized by my company, at an orphanage home. She came with some friends, and was introduced to me by a colleague of mine on that same occasion. I observed with admiration how she cared for the kids at the orphanage and that endeared her to me immediately. She is a good cook and can prepare both local and international dishes.

The marriage ceremony is a fun packed event. First their will be the maiden dance, during which, the bride is expected to dance with some maidens. At some point, the groom will join the bride and her maidens in the dance, while the father of the bride watches on to see how the groom carters for the daughter. If he is not satisfied or finds out that the man he wants to give the daughter to was attracted to another lady during the dance, he can call off the marriage immediately. This activity is followed by a toast and the cutting of cake, after which, everybody is given food to eat. During this period, people can bring their gifts and the man and woman are officially pronounced hu*and and wife.

I am inviting you to this event so you could use this opportunity to witness our culture and compare it with your own. I have once witnessed a marriage ceremony by two Canadians. Though it was fun too, but not as thrilling as ours. You will also use this opportunity to visit some nice sites in Nigeria. There are several locations here, that visitors troop to. I will keep the list as secrete until you arrive.

My dear friend, this is one journey you will relish to tell the stories to everyone and I look forward to seeing you.
