It is difficult for people who live in cities to get enough physical exercise. What are the causes and what solutions could be taken to solve the problem?

Nowadays, seldom do city-dwellers participate in outdoor activities. Behind such phenomenon are two predominant culprits, and hopefully some feasible approaches can be adopted.

To commence, the lack of public facilities for exercising should be responsible for this problem. This is mainly because the majority of metropolises have been occupied by residential areas with amenities to satisfy the demands of the surging population, as so many people have flooded into large cities for better job opportunities. In this case, it is hard for residents to seek an open area for outdoor exercising. Besides, it is due to the rat race in either study or work that people from all walks of life should work non-stop to have an edge over their counterparts. Naturally, wrapped up in their daily tasks, they lack either the time or the energy to have enough physical exercise.

Considering the gravity of this issue, two schemes can be put on the agenda. The first imperative approach is that the government can allocate more budgets and sites to constructing public facilities like parks and sports centres. Given more accessible sports facilities, residents are more likely to get physical exercise whenever they are available. Additionally, educational institutions, businesses, and community can on a regular basis arrange several outdoor activities such as excursions, mountain-climbing, and sports meeting. In this way, students, young working professionals, and community members can be called on to slow down their pace and *ell the roses.
