　　一般在雅思话题里碰到“决定”、“选择”或者“计划”啥的，咱们烤鸭就说“出国留学”就OK。这样就可以把之前准备过的study abroad的优缺点或者留在国内深造的优缺点分别讲出来凑时间了。既然是个“选择”，就说明各有利弊，我们需要一个权衡的过程，于是就把这个思考的心理过程讲出来即可。

　　The most important decision I had to make so far is whether or not I should go abroad to pursue a master’s degree. And I’m really grateful to my dad for helping me make this decision.

　　About a few months ago, I started to think about my future, and I have two choices: find a job immediately after graduation or go on to a graduate school.

　　If I get a job, I could finally be financially independent, I mean, I don’t have to ask my parents for money anymore, and I could buy myself whatever I want. However, I will lose the freedom that a student has, I mean, no more summer and winter vacations. Plus, I have to face too much pressure from my boss, or maybe other coworkers. And dealing with the complicated relationships could really give me a headache.

　　And the other option, going abroad, sounds tempting at first, ‘cause I could travel in a different country and try all those tasty food, but living alone in a foreign country can be really challenging for me. So I was completely torn.

　　My dad and I had a serious conversation about it. He said getting a master’s degree in a foreign country is better for me, ‘cause not only can I learn about a different culture, I could also develop my independent skills. I would grow into a big boy after I come back.

　　And that’s how I made the decision, so here I am.

　　so far = thus far = until now, up to this point例如：

　　What do you think of the show so far?

　　master’s degree = master’s = a further university degree that you study for after a first degree

　　grateful = feeling or showing thanks because somebody has done something kind for you or has done as you asked例如：

　　I am extremely grateful to all the teachers for their help.

　　We would be grateful for any information you can give us.

　　She seems to think I should be grateful to have a job at all.

　　He was grateful that she didn't tell his parents about the incident.

　　graduate school = a part of a college or university where you can study for a second or further degree

　　tempting = something that is tempting is attractive, and makes people want to have it, do it, etc. 例如：

　　It was a tempting offer.

　　That cake looks very tempting.

　　It's tempting to speculate about what might have happened.

　　A weekend in Rome? Mm, sounds tempting!

　　be torn (between A and B) = to be unable to decide or choose between two people, things or feelings例如：

　　I was torn between my parents and my friend.

　　grow into something = to gradually develop into a particular type of person over a period of time例如：

　　He's grown into a handsome young man.
