Families are not as close as before. Give reasons for this change, and suggest some ways to bring families closer.

Sample:
Nowadays, the relationship between family members is not as close as before. But as what factors contribute to this problem, different people have diverse opinions. As for as I am concerned, it results from the following reasons.

The first reason is that people spend more time on their study and work. Compared with the past, social competition is becoming fiercer and people have to face greater work pressure. Therefore, people have to devote almost themselves to their careers. What is more, many jobs require people to work in other cities and many children have to leave their parents at an early age to study or work elsewhere. As time passes, these people become emotionally estranged from their parents.

Another reason is that people enjoy more forms of entertainment and amusement. Nowadays there are various kinds of recreational facilities such as watching TV, surfing the Internet or playing video games which occupy people’s spare time. As a result, they would be diverted from enjoying chats with their family members.

To bring families closer, urgent steps must be taken into effect. Firstly, people should keep frequent touch with family members especially those who live away from one another. A regular phone call can bring them the care they need. Secondly, never bring your work home and leave it in your office. It is a good idea to spend more time with family members. And most importantly, we should often convey the concept of family to our children.
