Along with the huge progress of globalization, many countries have put so much emphasis on their economic development, and even some people believe that the becoming economy should be considered to be a judgment of a country' s success. However, there are still a lot of other people arguing that the success of a country depends on the living standard of its national citizens. Personally speaking, the later does go along with my own standpoints.

说明一是认为国家取得成就的主要依靠经济的繁荣，二是赞成公民的生活水平决定了国家的发展。自己支持后者。

First we should admit that the advancement of a country' s economy is of highly significance. It is unquestionable that the self-confidence of a nation, the strength of a country in both military and business fields, the individual wealth etc. largely depend on the status of that country' s economic condition, and usually the first step of flourishing a nation is economic construction. Under no circumstance can a nation be regarded to be successful when its people are still struggling on the poverty line.

肯定一国经济发展对国家进步的意义。这段话主要的就是中间的被动句，不难。没什么好说的，果断背诵之！！

But a country' s success is by no mean mere economic promotion, and those who hold the opinion like this tend to live under the illusion that all the country' s troubles can be equate to its economic problems. In fact, they fail to take into account that some problems, such as the deterioration of environment, which may probably exert detrimental impacts on people' s health, or the increasing mental pressure from peoples work or study, which may lead to psychological diseases, would indisputably impair the residents' sense of well-being and cannot be solved only through the augment of their wealth. As a matter of fact, the criteria of a nation' s success should focus on the residents' life issues, which are comprehensive manifestations of a country' s politics, economy, culture and many other aspects.

提出不能忽视人类创造的经济以外的，如，人所处的环境，文化的重要性，同时所有这些都依托在人身上。

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that any enlightened government should give priority to the contemplation of improving people' s living standard through multifaceted methods rather that concentrating only on developing their economy, so that they would gain glorious achievements eventually, and any countries, who neglect this vital point and contrive to flourish, would pay heavy price, which they cannot afford.
