Governments are more responsible for scientific research than private companies. To what extend do you agree or disagree? *相对于私人公司而言，有责任对科学研究进行更多的投入。你在多大程度上赞同？

These days, there are some disagreements as to whether the government should assume more responsibilities towards scientific investigations than individual enterprises. With the ever-accelerated updating of science and technology, there are increasing amount of money needed to support research. Hence, it is my belief that relative public authorities are supposed to participate in those fields rather than private companies. 说明现在对于科学研究需要更多的资金投入，提出观点：*当局应该比个体公司在这个领域投入更多。

It is the public's perception that the government who plays the dominant role in supporting resources, must set aside sufficient funds for scientific development. Moreover, they are capable to take various measures to sponsor money, such as taxes and fares. However, few private enterprises are able to earn enough profits to support non-stopping scientific research constantly, because they have to consider the market competition from other companies which never determine to participate in those researches. Therefore, although supporting scientific activities for companies, to some extent, is beneficial in the short time, the long-term effects it brings must be detrimental both to the enterprises themselves and to science at large. 众所周知，*部门通过不同的途径可以对科学研究进行投入；个体公司的科研部分也可以正常进行，尽管科研成果大多是一时的，在为企业做贡献的同事，也应该服务于整个科学事业。

With regard to facilities and personal in scientific investigations, government is also second to none. I am firmly convinced that not a single company, even multi-national one, can be compared with the public authorities in terms of the number of professionals and access to previous data which are two major components of research. Another fact to highlight the importance of government is that a majority of scientific equipment and other facilities are purchased by the government, while only a mere are donated by individuals. *在科研事业上的作为，相对于其他任何企业，都是首屈一指的。大型的科研设施的购*对于*而言，资金的拨动也是极少的部分。

However, we have to admit the fact that there are still quite a few private companies involved, contributing greatly to the fast-growing technological advance. As for enterprises, the key motivation seems to be because doing particualr researches leads to their products updating and then brings significantly positive impact upon the consumers and the companies as well. 辩证地谈到企业科研活动对社会进步的作用。
