xport：为什么其他三们都有机经,就口语没有呢?是和去年,前年一样,没有变化还是什么原因呢?我想总不会雅思取消口语考试了吧!!.版主,您是否能给个答案呢?总闷着也不是个事啊!

John：Part of the reason that you don't see 机经 for the spoken test is that there are no "correct" or "incorrect" answers for the spoken test. The interviewer gives you a score based on your ability to communicate, and not based on whether or not your answers conformed to a predetermined "answer sheet".

While the topics do are updated frequently, the types of questions never really change. It's much more important to work on improving your ability to communicate using spoken English than it is to try and guess exactly which questions the interviewer ask.

红星照我去战斗：But I don't think the speaking part of IELTS is perfect enough to test one's speaking level by some topics according to different background knowledge of different people.Set I myself for example, I don't like sports ,and I know nothing about sports stars.If it happened to me that my topic is that, I would fail in the exam. However, if we can collect the topics ,then we can collect words related to the topics to develop our speaking materials.

John：I disagree.

In fact, it's very unlikely that you'll be given a card in Stage Two of the interview asking you to describe a "sports star". It's much more likely that your card would ask you to describe a "famous person", in which case you could describe a sports star, an entertainer, a busines*an, a political figure, or any number of different types of people.

And if you are asked about the topic of "sports" in Stage One, it's fine for you to say "I don't like sports!" The interviewer will probably ask you "why?", but you don't need any specific knowledge of sports in order to explain why you don't like sports. :)

The most important part of the IELTS interview is *not* your knowledge of the specific topics; instead, the most important thing is your ability to express yourself in English about a variety of topics.

a teacher of training centre(he used to be the examiner of IELTS) told us that we can get high score(over 6`5) easily through using SLANGS and IDIOMS.

Don't try to use very long and difficuls words in order to impress the examiner.It won't work at all. Long and difficult words make this guy bookish.

John, is that right?Do u agree with what the teacher said? Keep practising ur english in 1-2 months.Non-stop.6`5 is not far from us.

John :I agree with the following sentence: " Don't try to use very long and difficult words in order to impress the examiner."

I think it's misleading, however, to say that using "idioms" and "slang" will help you get a high score on the exam. In fact, sometimes students try to use to many idioms and end up looking foolish. It's important to understand the proper colloquial usage of words, but it's more important that you use English that YOU are comfortable with to express your ideas. That's how you get a high score.

(By the way: If your friend was a former examiner, he or she would know that it's impossible to get a 6.5 on the IELTS Speaking Test. )

上善若水：Hi John,I've taken the 29 Feb interview, and I thought it was OK except one thing: since it was the first time I took the interview and the assistant teacher didn't guide m of the procedure, I took my bag to the interviewer. She felt surprise at my behavior! and told m put the bag downstairs-of course, that resulted in a minute or two time waste. I apologized for that and all interview was pretty good, and when we said goodbye, she *iled to remind m of not forgetting my bag. But tell m John, do u think that's possible she would take some points off coz of that? Look forward to ur reply and thank u very much!

John：Don't worry so much! The interviewer will not take off points in this situation. In fact, I bet the interviewer was glad to have an extra minute or two of rest between interviews!

topic:along with social development,a variety fo languages and cultures are losing seriously.plz discuss the reasons and give your suggestions.

i took this topic to my australian teacher,he said it didn't make sense.it shoud change"losing seriously"into"being lost".and he gave me only one reason--progress.for intance,internet,economics,jobs,foreign companies come and so on.and then i told him it is just one reason,i can't write only one reason in the writting test.i wanna more reasons.and then,he told me it was the main reason,and he didn't know other reasons.so as a foreigner,i would like to know how do u think about this topic and what are ur reasons.oh,i also told him maybe touri* is one of the reasons.but he said no.coz toursits wanna see something traditional,not modern.maybe he is right,but i still think touri* is a reason,just like every coin has two sides.i can talk something about how touri* change our languages and cultures.am i right??although that's not a oral test question,i want to know ur opinion.i hope i don't bother u.thanks a lot!!
