That being said, scientific evidence is mounting that the advent of digital technology is having a detrimental effect on interpersonal relationships. Everything from body language and facial expressions to attentiveness and engagement can indicate different thoughts and feelings―each of which can only be truly observed through face-to-face communication. So, despite the clear upsides of digital communication, there are circumstances under which there is no substitute for face-to-face communication. Meanwhile, the complete dependence on the Internet for communication may result in the sense of alienation and depression which will keep us apart from the rest of the real world.
In conclusion, it is necessary to balance those Internet interactions with face-to-face communication. It is hard to say how far the Internet would go, but face-to-face communication has not yet been and never will be replaced by technology.

It is true that people now have easy access to many things-information, people and places via mobile phones and computers. However, despite many benefits of these high-tech equipment, the exponential growth of this digital technology might affect real-life interaction negatively.
Firstly, the excessive use of computers is likely to influence children' s communication skills. Today, whats app, Facebook and role playing games are so attractive that they start to take up more of children' s time, fragment their activities and distract their attention. Scientists say that this may destroy the ability to focus. However, without this ability, students might have low learning efficiency and poor academic performance. What, s worse, those who do less well in examination may feel embarrassed and less confident when socializing with good performers, so that they may choose to make friends online or just live in their virtual world.
In addition, *s relying heavily on digital devices have difficulty in interaction as well. According to the research, most young *s who are addicted to mobile phones do not know how to start a proper face-to-face conversation when they have to meet strangers, because they have social awkwardness and anxiety. However, there are many important occasions where require a good communication, such as a date with the beloved, an important interview and the wedding speech. Insufficient communication skills might lead to unintended consequences.
In conclusion, in many cases, having a cell phone and laptop can be a huge help. But we need to avoid some bad cell phone habits and stop being the digital dummies."
