二、听力考试内容与范围
听力材料
前两段听力材料涉及社会生活范畴的话题。第一段材料以两人间的对话形式出现，如关于旅行安排的对话。第二段材料为一个人的独白，如介绍博物馆开放时间的录音。
后两段听力材料与教育或培训环境下的话题更为贴近。第三段材料是不超过4个人之间的对话，比如老师和学生关于作业的讨论。第四段材料为一个人的独白，如关于一般性学术话题的讲课内容。
三、雅思听力备考误区
抓不到关键词是因为语速太快
雅思的录音语速的确不能算慢，如果你平时习惯的是VOA慢速英语，那么的确适应不了雅思听力的要求。但是BC官方完全没有为难考生的意思，他们命题的宗旨是尽量的还原生活，也就是说你听到的听力材料基本是母语国家正常人讲话的语速。
题海战术，重量不重质
不少考生在准备听力考试时喜欢采取题海战术，但是对于雅思考试来讲符合考试方向的练习比较少，除了剑桥系列、九分达人外很难找到合适的套题。很多考生只是在做完题目后对一下答案便草草了事，并没有很好地利用这些有限的资料，对题目进行全面的分析，导致今后做到一模一样的试题还是会在同样的地方犯错，甚至做题的准确率也会降低。
盲目相信机经
不少考生把机经奉为圣典，认为考前的复习主要是背机经，甚至认为背了机经就能考好。不否认机经的确是广大考生智慧的结晶，但盲目使用对考试并没有帮助。
忽略听力内功修炼
听力实力的提高可以有三个阶段： 起步段，以单词听写为主，正确率必须达到95%以上，不能达到这一参数请继续反复训练。 中级段，以细节听写为主，边播放录音边记录所听信息中的有效内容，尤其是名词及数字，对于听力信号词（e.g. but， so， another thing is， also， etc）后面的信息更要非常敏感并快速记忆。 高级段，听写剑桥雅思录音原文中任何section各一至两篇即可。此过程巨耗时间，不建议长期训练，久之会产生强迫症，考试时过分依赖对录音原文每个单词的理解。雅思听力与阅读类似，不是真正要求能全部听懂或看懂，而是能有的放失地快速锁定目标记录正确答案。此三阶段中的重心更应该是前两个阶段。
听不懂是因为生词太多
雅思听力的考试的确需要一定量的词汇，但是其实填空题需要填的单词多属于4级范围内的词汇，可以说并不是很难，而选择题的同义替换部分，掌握了6级范围的词汇，也基本可以搞定。
听力部分写单词只能用英式拼法
雅思考试是一个国际性的考试，并不会因为它是英联邦国家的考试，而只能采用英式拼写。只要你的单词拼写正确，无论是英式还是美式拼写都能接受。比如，不管是center 还是centre 在考试中都是正确的，不需要特别使用英式拼写方法。

雅思听力怎么提高：
先把每篇雅思文章仔细的听四遍，再加上1-2个月的练习，听力会有很大的提高。每天要进行不少于1个小时的精听，训练自己具有听懂能力。由于美音比较流行，而且也比较好模仿。所以建议大家根据自己的英语水平选择一篇配有标准美音朗读的文章听力练习，篇幅不要太长，生词量不要超过10%。第一遍全文听过，偏重理解文章内容，听的过程不要看原文，一定有许多单词听不出来，甚至有些句子也没有听出来，没有关系，开始第二遍。
将第二次的重点放在听懂句子上，试着根据听到的单词和结构猜测没有听到部分的内容，根据其发音特点估计到底是哪个单词，这时大家会发现听力测试其实是考察一个人的记忆力的测试，必须以最快的速度记住听懂的内容，而这并不是最难的，还要尽可能记住没听懂的内容，根据上下文和发音特点来猜测记忆，在脑海中根据听力内容的进程设置提示点，越明确的提示，之后回忆起来的可能性就越大。
第三遍听的时候反复搜索刚才设置的各个提示点，继续联系上下文，重点放在单词的理解上，由全文，到句子，再到单词，范围逐渐缩小，如果基础比较好的话，会发现听第三遍时单词会自己跳到脑海中，这是因为大脑对听到的信息已经进行了2次加工，根据设置的提示点会使人想起以前记忆库中的单词。听过三遍后，再看一遍原文，快速的看，只看自己没听出来的部分，这样记忆会非常深刻。第四遍，重听刚才的内容，注意语音语调，从语音的角度加强刚才没听出来内容的记忆。经过四次精听，基础好、记忆力好的同学可能已经把文章背的差不多了。
每天听1个小时，坚持听1-2个月后，已经可以听懂一般难度的文章了，所有的听力发音规则都是一样的，看的文章多了，不同的发音规则就都懂了。有的不只听过一次，这样的训练对掌握听力发音规则基本就完成了。经过不断的学习和巩固提高，听力水平达到一个新的高度。
