　　Describe a time when you made a promise to someone.

　　A time I made a promise to someone that really sticks in my mind, is when I told my mother I would take her on holiday somewhere nice in the south of China, when I got my first salary from my first job. So, after I finished university, and eventually got a job, I saved the money and when the Spring festival holiday came around I arranged a trip to Yunnan, to Dali and Lijiang to be precise. My mother was really happy with this, and she didn’t think I’d keep my promise, to be honest, because I do have a habit of having good intentions, but not carrying them out! So, we went to Yunnan, and stayed in some wonderful little guest houses, ate in fantastic restaurants and had a fabulous time. It was probably the best one-week holiday I’ve had actually, and it made my mother feel really special. It was not difficult to arrange the trip, as I did it all online – chose the guest house, booked the flights, and so forth. These things are pretty easy to do nowadays, as everything can be done via a phone or computer.
