Describe a time when someone apologized to you

  • You should say:
  • When and where this happened
  • Who the person was
  • Why he or she apologized
  • And explain how you felt about his or her apology

The other day I was ordering some lunch in a food hall when a disaster occurred which was very upsetting. I was on my lunch break and went to my favourite place to get some food. It was a very busy day and there were a lot of people in the food hall all rushing about during the busy lunchtime period.

While I was waiting for my food a young woman went up to collect her order. She was talking on her mobile phone with one hand and thus picked up her food with the other. She turned around quite abruptly (突然) and carelessly which resulted in her accidentally dropping her food all over me. It was an utter (十足的) disaster; food went everywhere, and I was wearing a brand new white shirt which was absolutely stained with grease and sauce.(油和酱汁)

When this occurred, she immediately apologized and ended her phone call. She told me it was an accident and that she did not mean to spill (洒) food all over me. However, I was quite upset at the time and did not initially accept her apology. I told her it was very reckless to try and carry food and talk on the phone at the same time. Furthermore, that maybe if she had not done so she would not have ruined my clothes and spilled food all over me. She apologized again and asked if there was anything she could do to help. However, in some cases an apology is not enough, and I was still very upset. So, I said no, then went home to change my clothes.
