My grandfather is currently retired for many many years, but for most of his life, he was a doctor for a *all hospital in my city. He was very proud to be a doctor and performed his duties diligently and properly （努力的和恰当的）.He would be at the hospital almost every day from early in the morning until very late at night. He would also go out and visit the sick who were too unwell to make the journey to the hospital. Yet, this was not the only job he had in his life. When he was very young he joined the merchant navy （商业船队） and was a sailor, then when the Second World War broke out he became a soldier in the army and fought in the war. It was only a few years after the war, when he was decommissioned （退役）,that he began to train to become a doctor.

I feel very proud of my grandfather for all of the jobs he has performed in his life. I think that when he was young he performed very hard duties that only a strong and resilient （坚韧的） person would be able to do. Then later as a doctor he became a big inspiration and source of hope （鼓舞和希望的来源） to many people in our town. He would always try so hard to heal （治愈） the sick, comfort the families of the unwell and generally relieve people’s struggling. I admire my grandfather very much and respect the choices he has made in life.
