I think when it comes to jobs, young people tend to choose jobs they have seen in storybooks or on television.  They sometimes pick jobs that are not actually practical or possible like an astronaut or a princess.  I think as children get older, parents are a strong influence when it comes to choosing a career.

Many children want to follow in their parent's footsteps or their parents have high expectations about what they want their children to do.

What kind of jobs do *s like to choose?

Answer：

I think when it comes to jobs, *s tend to go for more sensible jobs, jobs that offer more stability and security, such as civil servants 公务员.  Jobs that offer a set salary and benefits are more common as people can't take risks as they usually have a family to support.

Everyone has their dream job but in reality, many people don't get to follow that path. They have to compromise 妥协 and choose a job that will pay the bills.

这道题的观点似乎又出现在刚刚的回答里，有些小孩子会选择和父母相同的职业。但是面对“ Opinion ” 观点类型问题 ，我们一定要学会 一分为二 的思考方式。“Do children like...”也就说明 有喜欢 ， 也有不喜欢的 。

Answer：

Well, I think it depends on the family.  There are many children that follow in the same footsteps as their parents and they do this for different reasons.  Some children respect and admire what their parents do and want to do something similar as they notice the benefits the job can bring to them.

Others choose the same career through a sense of obligation 责任感, their parents expect them to do the same as they did. This is very common when the family-run a business.

However, there are many people who choose to follow a completely different path than their parents because they want to pursue a different career that is more suited to their skills and talent or they look at their parent's job and see all the drawbacks such as long working hours and a low wage and decide they want something different.
