在口语三个部分的考试中，大多数学生反映的问题是：素材不够，词汇缺乏，思路狭小，且时常好不容易想出阐述问题的某一方面后很难进一步拓展，导致的结果就会是：明明很努力在阐述一个topic，可考官听着就感觉考生在beat around the bush,后不仅达不到使用topic vocabulary答题的目的，有时候连答题stay on topic都很难做到。接下去我们这里要讲的就是如何拓展一个Topic的答题素材并且综合利用到三个部分的更多话题中。

the corner,那么我们先来拿holiday & festival这个素材说事儿。

一、P1问题

话不多说，看具体P1问题：

What public holidays do you have in your country?

Do people in your country celebrate foreign festival?

What do you usually do during the public holidays?

粗略地扫一眼这几个题大家不难发现，此Topic考察点不外乎具体public  holiday, foreign festival的名称，这些节假日人们的活动和重要性。知晓这些后我们下面该做的就是汇集素材：

特征：Busiest time for transportation system; the important festival for Chinese; a time to bid farewell to the old year and usher the new

活动：

1.Do the spring cleaning, including houses, clothes, sheets and utensils. It is believed that cleaning sweeps the back luck and makes the house ready for good luck to enter.

2.Have reunion dinner: held on New Year’s Eve, when family members get together for celebration. The food people eat include chicken, fish, dumplings, etc, but normally not eaten up completely.

3.Others: buy new clothes; stay up late on New Year’s Eve, watch Spring Festival Evening Gala (a evening gala of drama, dance and songs, which is broadcast on the Eve of Spring Festival, live on CCTV-1, and  by satellite on CCTV-4 and CCTV-9)

Lantern Festival

特征：The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.

活动：

watch lanterns or fireworks to show respect to buddhas

guess lantern riddles to get gifts

enjoy performances such as a dragon lantern dance ( a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and beating drums while dancing will be staged). Eat Yuan xiao or rice dumplings

Mid-Autumn Festival

特征：also called the Chinese Moon Festival, is one of the most important annual festivals for the Chinese people (in addition to the Spring Festival), an important day for family reunion.

活动：relish a reunion dinner; eat moon cake; appreciate the beauty of moon

有了如上中国节日素材后，我们再来瞅瞅即将到来的Thanksgiving Day的活动：

Talk with others; play board games; eat traditional thanksgiving food(cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, steamed vegetables, apple pie)

A:Actually there are plenty of public holidays in China, such as Luna New Year, Qingming, Labour Day and National Day.

2.Q:Do people in your country celebrate foreign festival?

A: I guess it depends on different regions and age groups. In some developed coastal areas, young folks are quite keen on celebrating western festivals like Christmas and Thanksgiving. While some old generation in less developed areas may not see western festivals attractive because the western restaurants often charge higher during those time.

3.Q:What do you usually do during the public holidays?

A: In different holidays we usually organize different kinds of activities. For instance, we often eat moon cakes and appreciate the beauty of the brightest and biggest moon in Mid-Autumn Festival. In Lantern Festival we would like to watch lanterns and guess lantern riddles.

4.Q: Why do we need public holidays?

A: We need them primarily because they provide us with great opportunities to be reunited with family members. Besides, we surely need them to remind us of the traditional splendid Chinese culture.

上题中标红的两个点我们就完全可以用上面准备的节日素材加以应对：

What the event was: Actually it was the last Lantern Festival I had with my family members. In our country Lantern Festival is of great significance, just a few days later than Spring Festival. Since all family members finally found time to be together, my grandparents decided to prepare a big meal and organize activities in order to celebrate it.

What you saw or did: In that day I was quite occupied by various activities from early morning to the night. In the morning I helped my parents prepare rice dumplings, which were *all dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling. After having meal with my whole family, I also headed out to watch the vivid lanterns in the streets. The old generation said that the lanterns had been a symbol of the Buddha, by letting them on, our wishes could be known by the Buddha. That lovely day ended with interesting Lantern riddle games, and I got home with adorable gifts I won from the games.
