[题型透析]

本题属于景点类考题中,考生们在备考中要准备一个人文景观(historic site)和一个自然景观(nature beauty),自然景观可以参照城市类的考题进行准备。

[考点精析]

这道题的难点在于对于历史建筑的描述,在强调它的历史作用时多少会涉及到历史知识以及一些专有名词的表达。而不管各位考生是选择中国的还是国外的历史建筑,鉴于平日里谈论得少,考试前没有够的准备就很难开口。所以各位考生在考前可以结合其它描述地点或建筑的话题一起准备:Describe a museum/an old building/your favorite building/an important traditional building等。

[回答技巧]

对此类建筑话题进行描述时,往往要求考生描述以下方面:建筑所在地点(where), 参观此建筑的时间(when)/多久去一次(how long), 参与的人(who), 以及为什么喜欢/不喜欢这个建筑(why)。这种类型的问题对大多数考生来说都比较简单,只需把重点放在喜欢或者不喜欢的原因即可,学生很容易找到相关思路并且做出清晰流畅的回答。

如个问题描述location可以用以下结构进行扩展___________is located in ___________ and it’s (not) far from_________. It takes me_______from_______to go there.如 The Forbidden City is located in Tian Anmen and it’s not far from my home and it takes me only 10 minutes walk from my place to go there.第二个问题描述什么时间去的,可以通过what who when where why来扩展,如: When I was a high school student, I went there with my parents to enjoy our vacation 。

回答第三,四个问题时,对于特定的历史建筑物而言,需要重点描述这个地点或描述对象本身具有较多的特征或特别之处、所以,在选择对象的时候,要注意一些其自身的特色,以及可以提一下在此建筑物中的经历,如描述西湖West Lake就可以描述它的美景wonderful lake view, 美食different kinds of lake food,在那边做的活动outdoor activities such as boating and taking a walk.I would like to describe the Xi'an City Wall. Xi’an is an ancient city in central-northwest China. There are many historical sites there, including the famous Terracotta Army. However, I’d like to describe the Xi'an City Wall. Although it’s less known than the Terracotta Army, it’s an amazing site that impressed me very much.I went there during my school trip when I was at high school. I remember it was May, so the weather was warm and sunny.Well, our group went around the site with a tour guide. The site is huge, so the tour took about two hours. We climbed the Wall from one of the gates. We saw the gate towers, the moat around the Wall, and the suspension bridge. We also walked in the park around the Wall that has many beautiful trees and flowers.I really enjoyed visiting the Xi'an City Wall. First, it’s the oldest city wall in China that is so well preserved. So when you walk around it, you feel like a part of history. Another reason is that I’m interested in engineering and it’s going to be my major at university. So it was very interesting for me to see all the different structures at the site. I tried to imagine how people built those structures without the modern equipment that we have today. All in all, visiting the Xi'an City Wall allowed me to learn more about Chinese history and architecture. It was a great discovery!
