在我的大学预科课程正式开始前的某个早晨，Cathy开车带我去离家不远处的一个便利店购**卡以及国际长途*卡。

“This street is called Elizabeth Avenue, which is one of the busiest commercial streets around this area.  In here, you are able to get pretty much everything that you need, for instance, vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, milk, bread, as well as daily necessities......”said Cathy.

“Are they cheap? Cause’ in Shanghai, all the goods and products sold in all the busy streets are much more expensive than those in normal supermarkets, you know......”

“Oh，really? Nevertheless, in Australia, in particular, in Adelaide, same products with same quality have the exactly same prices...so I guess you don’t have to be worried about that bit too much.”

“Hmm, that sounds reasonable, Cathy!”

“Yeah, it’s nice, isn’t it?”

阿德莱德7月的天气，实在不敢恭维，寒风刺骨地吹，伴随着淅淅沥沥的冬雨，让刚刚从暖烘烘的车内出来的我们，冷得只打寒颤。

“Are you cold? You’d better wear more clothes!”

“Actually, I’m okay. What about you?”

“I’m fine, Daniel. I got used to it! I’m Aussie!”

-“How can I help you, sir?”

-“Oh, hi, how are you this morning?”

-“Very well, thank you. Yourself?”

-“Fine, thanks. I’m wondering if you are selling international telephone cards here.”

-“Yes, we are. Are you calling China?”

-“Yes, China. Shanghai, China.”

-“Wah, you are from Shanghai, aren’t you, such a big city though.”

-“Yes, it is an international city.”

-“Here we go. This is Hello China phone card, which is the cheapest IP card sold in Australia, for calling China.”

-“Thank you, and how much does one cost?”

-“10.00AUD each.”

-“By the way, I’m a new comer here. What should I do with my cell phone? Any recommendation?”

-“Oh, welcome to Australia, first of all. And regarding the cell phone SIM card, we do have different prepaid plans from different phone companies. I am sure OPTUS prepaid
plans suit you the best since most of the international as well as local students are using OPTUS at the moment, which provides you with a sound amount of free calls and free text messages with each other”

-“Sounds really good. You’ve been really helpful! And how much I owed you?”

- “10.00AUD for one Hello China and 30.00AUD for one OPTUS SIM card, which comes to...should be 40.00AUD altogether, sir.”

-“Right, here you are, 50.00AUD.”

-“Cheers. Here is your change. And have a good day!”

-“Bye-bye.”

-“See you mate.”

就这样，我顺利地完成了在澳大利亚的次购物行动，感觉还是很棒的。回家的路上，Cathy也忍不住说道：“Well-done, I told you your English language skill is excellent!”
