如何应付雅思口语Part Three（五）

上一讲我们说到用分层讨论的办法来解决一些雅思口语考试第三部分的问题。这一讲我们具体来看有哪些方法可以就考官给出来的话题进行分层讨论。
一、时间分层。 有些问题我们可以“溯古论今”，回顾过去、阐述现在，甚至展望未来。我们来看这样一个问题：What is the most valuable thing that parents can give to their children? 关于这个问题，一个5分版本的答案可能是这样：I think it is freedom!（答案很简单，但回答了问题） 一个6分的考生可能给出的答案是这样的：As far as I am concerned, the best thing that children can expect from their parents is freedom.（用到了定语从句）而一个有着7分实力的考生可能会给出的答案是：Well, I suppose this is really worth discussing!（回顾过去） In the past when parents were considered as the authority of a family, the best thing that children could inherit from their parents was discipline which could be used to rule their own life. （阐述现在） However , nowadays as the families have become increasingly democratic as well as the society as a whole, the freedom given to children to choose their favorite way of living, instead of yielding to their parents’ wishes, is more valued. 这个答案比较了过去和现在，让答案显得非常充实有料。同时综合使用了多种从句，所以是一个答案。再来看这个问题：Do you think men and women are born for different jobs? 这也是让很多学生觉得很难回答的一个问题。答”yes”吧，担心考官是一个女权主义者；答”no”吧，又不知道该怎样解释清楚理由。让我们同样来试试时间分层这样一个思维方式：What I believe is quite on the contrary.（回顾过去）The traditional wisdom may be in favor of the born difference between males and females, and therefore there was clear division of labor according to people’s gender in the past, but I think that the difference is the result of prejudice.（阐述现在）However now since the society has shown more appreciation towards women, women have joined the competition with men and undertaken various occupations that used to be considered to be exclusive for men. （待续）
