一、以剑桥复习资料622为例：

The results of a 14-year study to be announced later this month reveal that the diseases associated with old age are afflicting fewer and fewer people and when they do strike, it is much later in life.

【句意】：14年的研究结果将在本月末宣布。即，与年龄有关的病症使越来越少的人受到困扰，即便受到影响也是人生的晚年了。

【结构分析】：“of a 14-year study”为介词短语作后置定语。 “to be announced later this month” 为不定式短语作后置定语。 “associated with old age”为过去分词短语作后置定语。通过三个后置定语的分析，我们可知本句的主干十分清晰，即“The results reveal that diseases are afflicting fewer and fewer people and when they do strike, it is much later in life.”

【复习资料分析】：Research carried out by scientists in the United States has shown that the proportion of people over 65 suffering from the most common age-related medical problems is falling and that the speed of this change is increasing.
