雅思阅读从句分析

在句子中起名词作用的句子叫名词性从句。名词性从句的功能相当于名词词组,它在复合句中能担任主语、宾语、表语、同位语、介词宾语等,因此根据它在句中不同的语法功能,名词性从句又可分别称为主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句、同位语从句、介词宾语从句等。在雅思阅读中经常出现的除了名词性从句之外,还有定语从句和状语从句,下面小编就这些雅思阅读从句分别给各位考生们介绍一下。
宾语从句
在复合句中用作宾语的从句称为宾语从句 (object clause)。引导宾语从句的关联词有从属连词、疑问代词、疑问副词、缩合连接代词、缩合连接副词等。如:
Animal right activists claim that animal tests are cruel, inhumane and unnecessary.
动物权益计划护声称动物实验很残忍、没人道和不必要。(关联词是从属连词that)
It is hard to imagine what effects garbage will exert on our life.
很难想象垃圾将对我们的生活造成什么影响。(关联词是疑问代词what)
I will tell you why I came here.
我会告诉你我为什么来这儿。(关联词是疑问副词why)
有时介词可以被省去。如:
Nobody cares (for) what happened to the wildlife.
没有人关心那些野生生物发生了什么。
状语从句
中文:在米兰附近的伊斯普拉的欧共体科学实验室进行太阳能实验的欧洲经济共同体资深科学认为,只要略为增加欧洲经济共同体在利用太阳能方面的研究经费.就能使这方面的研究提前20年取得突破。
英文:A breakthrough in the provision of energy from the sun for the European Economic Community (EEC) could be brought forward by up to two decades, if an modest increase could be provided in the EEC's research effort in this field, according to the senior EEC scientists engaged in experiments in solar energy at EEC's scientific laboratories at Ispra ,near Milan.
结构分析:全句主干为:“A breakthrough... could be brought for ward……;主语breakthrough被介词短语in the provision of……European Economic Community (EEC)修饰.而provision又被两个介词短语所修饰:一是在逻辑上与之构成直接宾语的of energy from the sun,另一个是目的状语for the European Economic Community。if引导的从句为主句的状语:according to引导的介词短语也作状语,其中过去分词短语engaged in experiments in solar energy at EEC's scientific laboratories at Ispra,near Milan修饰scientists.作定语。
主语从句
在复合句中用作主语的从句称为主语从句 (subject clause)。引导主语从句的关联词有从属连词、疑问代词、疑问副词、缩合连接代词、缩合连接副词等。如:
Who should be responsible for the senior citizens has been widely discussed in our community.
谁应该对老年人负责这个问题在社区里被广泛讨论。(关联词是疑问代词who)
Where we can dispose of the increasing rubbish is a great headache to many governments.
在哪儿处置日益增多的垃圾对很多*而言是件头痛的事。(关联词是疑问副词where)
Wherever you are is my home-my only home.
定语从句
Behaviorists suggest that the child who is raised in an environment where there are many stimuli which develop his or her capacity for appropriate responses will experience greater intellectual development.
层: Behaviorists 主 suggest 谓 that the child who is raised in an environment where there are many stimuli which develop his 宾语从句 or her capacity for appropriate responses will experience greater intellectual development.
二层: (宾语从句) that 引 the child 主 who is raised in an environment where there are many stimuli which develop his or her capacity 定语从句
for appropriate responses will experience 谓 greater intellectual 定 development. 宾
三层: (定语从句) who 引 is raised 谓 in an environment 状 where there are many stimuli which develop his or her capacity for ap- 定语从句
propriate responses
四层: (定语从句) where 引 there 引 are 系 many 定 stimuli 主 which develop his or her capacity for appropriate responses 定语从句
五层: (定语从句) which 引 develop 谓 his or her 定 capacity 宾 for appropriate 定 responses
要点 根据上下文的逻辑关系可以看出,本句中suggest的词义不是propose,而是bring an idea into the mind,所以翻译为…的看法是。who引导的定语从句修饰child,根据上下文的语义关系,翻译成条件句;where引导的定语从句修饰 environment,用合译法译出;which引导的从句修饰stimuli,用分译法进行翻译。appropriate:适合的,相称的。
译文 行为主义者的看法是,如果一个儿童在有许多*因素的环境里长大,而这些*因素能够开发其相应的反映能力,那么这个儿童将会有更好的智力发展。
表语从句
在复合句中用作表语的从句称为表语从句 (predictive clause)。引导表语从句的关联词有疑问代词、疑问副词、缩合连接代词、从属连词等。如:
The problem is who they can rely on.
问题是他们能依赖谁呢。(关联词是疑问代词who)
The question is how they have achieved this.
问题是他们是如何完成的。(关联词是疑问副词how)
He looked just as he had looked ten years before.
他看起来还和十年前一样。(关联词是从属连词as)
