雅思阅读之判断题——实例篇2

在实例篇1中为大讲解了TRUE/YES的标准。 下面继续结合剑桥复习资料的具体题目来讲解判断题的解题思路

2. FALSE/NO: 题目中至少有一个考点词汇和原文中的表达相反 , 矛盾 ;

例 3 Cambridge 4 Test 4

题目 : The plight of the rainforests has largely been ignored by the media.

原文 : In the face of the frequent and often vivid media coverage,……

分析 : 此题的 topic 是关于 media 对 rainforest 的关注 , 题目中的 media 与原文中的 media 完全对应 , 但题目中的 ignored 与原文中的 frequent and vivid coverage 矛盾 , 因此 , 答案为 FALSE.

例 4 Cambridge 6 Test1

题目 : Cheap labour guarantees effective trade conditions.

原文 : Cheap labour may make Chinese clothing competitive in America, but if delays in shipment tie up working capital and cause winter coats to arrive in spring, trade may lose its advantages.

分析 : 如果将这两句话各自翻译成中文 , 有考生会认为题目中的 effective conditions 即有效的条件没有在文章中提到 , 故而选 NOT GIVEN. 其实 , 解题思路应该是这样的 : 题目和原文都在围绕 cheap labor 这个主题 , 即主题完全对应 , 题目中的 trade conditions 与 trade 对应 , 关键是看 cheap labor 对 trade conditions 的影响如何 , 我们发现原文 trade 是 lose its advantages, 而考题是 guarantee effective conditions, 两者方向相反 , 所以答案为 FALSE.

例 5 Cambridge 4 Test 3

题目 :Only one fixed loan should be given to each child.

原文 :The loan amount in S.K.I programs have generally ranged from US30-100.

分析 : 主题关于 loan, 原文给出的 loan 是 ranged from…to… 贷款数量是可以变化的 , 但题目中是 fixed loan, 固定贷款 . 在 loan 的数量表达不一致 , 相互矛盾 .

从以上的例子可以看出 , 题目表达中若至少一个考点需做判断 , 与原文说法不一致或矛盾 , 无论其他考点如何 , 只要找出一个考点错误 , 那么该题应判为 FALSE/NO.

3.NOT GIVEN 的判断标准 : 题目中在没有错误的前提下 , 至少有一个考点词汇在原文中没有相关内容 .

从标准来看 , 先不能有错误的成分存在 , 因为出现矛盾不一致 , 那么该题就应该判为 FALSE/NO, 否则 , 若至少一个考点文章没有提到 , 那么该题判 NOT GIVEN.

例 6 Cambridge 4 Test1

题目 :Girls are more likely than boys to hold mistaken views about the rainforests destruction.

原文 :More girls(70%) than boys(60%) raised the idea of rainforest as animal habitats…more girls(13%) than boys(5%) said that rainforests provided human habitats

分析 : 从原文的表达中可以找到题干的部分信息 Girls are more likely than boys, 但是题目中的 hold mistaken views about rainforest destruction 这一信息在原文中没有任何对应的信息 , 所以答案为 NOT GIVEN.

例 7 Cambridge 4 Test 1

题目 :A second study has been planned to investigate primary school children’s ideas about rainforests.

原文 :One encouragement is that the results of similar studies about other environmental issues suggest that older children…

分析 : 题目为 a second study has planned to , 而原文为 the result of similar studies, 两者构不成对应关系 , 即答案为 NOT GIVEN

例 8 Cambridge 5 Test 1

题目 :Several of the subjects were psychology students at Yale University.

原文 :A few years ago, in one of the most fascinating and disturbing experiments in behavioral psychology, Stanley Milgram of Yale University tested 40 subjects from all walks of life for their willingness to obey instructions given by a ‘leader’ in a situation in which the subjects might feel a personal distaste of the actions they were called upon to perform.

分析 : 题目中的 subjects, Yale university 和原文中的 subjects, Stanley Milgram of Yale University 对应 , 但是题目中的 psychology students 在原文中找不到对等的信息 , 因为原文对 subject 的修饰语是 all walks of life, 意为各行各业 . 不一定为 psychology students. 因此答案为 NOT GIVEN.

从这些例子中可以看出 , 在判断中 , 根据对应阅读发 , 只要命题中没有错误信息出现 , 而同时在原文中没有找到对应的信息 , 那么该题为 NOT GIVEN.

总结

在解答判断题的时候 , 从英语语言能力的测水平来说 , 不是考查考生的翻译能力 . 从判断题考查细节信息的角度来说 , 在解答时 , 为了不让自己陷入钻牛角尖和中文文字游戏的复杂困境中 , 应从基本的判断标准 , 根据对应阅读方法 , 体会考官出题思路 , 从而对考题进行正确的判断 .
