雅思写作大作文A类Task1，Task2实例

Unlike other countries, police in UK do not carry guns. Some think it leaves citizen unprotected. Others think it reduces the overall violence in UK society. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Sample:
This should be a familiar scene in a Hollywood detective movie: an American police officer, armed with a pistol in case of a sudden stride from a misty corner, patrols a dark alley in search of a crime.  In the meantime, his UK counterparts has to do the same job without armament.

Generally speaking, gun is recognized as an emblem of power and justice of law.  Police armed with guns are able to prevent some crimes from happening.   A pistol on the belt works effectively to stop crimes such as robbery or theft.  Also it can be used for threatening and arresting the criminals.

Furthermore, gun serves as a great helper while the police on duty crashes into an emergent situation like gun fighting or commotion.  Guns are not expected to be employed to finish off the chaos but to protect the police force, and subsequently enforce the law.

Meanwhile,  the violence rate is rising in UK due to the global terrori*.  Unlike the ordinary thief, robbers or gangsters who are equipped with daggers and knives, a large number of international terrorists are equipped with the advanced firearms.  Proper measures must be taken to protect both the police and the civilian from being attacked.  Though, there might be no way to guarantee the safety of each person, at least carrying guns on the part of police can increase the security level of our cities to some extent.

In the end, this new rule will benefit the public in UK, and this might create a more steady and harmonious society.  If there must be a controversy, it would go to whether the government should place a curb upon the possible abuse of guns.
