Some people believe that giving aid to poorer countries has more negative effects than the positive effects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

显然,写这篇文章的开头主要的任务就是通过paraphrase的方式引出topic中所述的观点,但是仅仅这样做的话一来开头显得比较突兀二来字数也偏少,因此这个时候……当然是要轮到我俞老师上课反复强调的传说中的秘.法----追根溯源法登场了! 为什么会有人认为给予不发达经济援助不好呢?当然是因为肯定有人先提出了要援助贫穷这样一种主张!为什么会有人提出这种主张呢?当然是因为世界上一直以来不同的之间经济实力悬殊这一无奈事实所造成的啦!这样是不是我们的introduction就有点东西好写了呢?

Introduction

t can not be denied that financial differences have been existing between different countries (追根溯源法). For this reason, some

people propose that it is the duty for the developed countries to

provide financial aid to the countries that are economically inferior to them, which, has been counter-argued by some critics believing

the negative effects of the practice outweigh the positive ones (这里需要改写topic当中的original information,是向考官展现你的语言实力的好机会哦!我改!我改!我改改改!把题目中的滥词都改成词组吧!再来个华丽的复合句”吓吓”他们J). The latter opinion, as far as I am concerned, has its reasons to a large extent(Statement,根据前.考官Mark Morgan的说法,正统的essay里statement还是应该写在段的后.).

接下来就应该先把富援助穷这种做法的利与弊在脑海里先brainstorm一下,结果发现能够想到的这种做法的坏处要多于好处。这种情况之下主体结构佳选择无疑就还是经典的“三对一”结构了!

Body

Admittedly, it does have certain benefits if the rich countries

provide financial aid to the poorer ones. With the financial aid, the economy in the recipient countries may see substantial growth and the ties between the various countries might be further strengthened as well. (让步段,先有限度地承认该做法可能能够带来的好处.相当于女孩子拒男生说“可是……”前的“你是一个很优秀的人”,或者是老板要开除员工说“可是”之前的“其实我也知道你还是有一定能力的”……)

While the benefits of the practice seem to be evident, the practice may also bring some problems which may potentially result in serious negative effects. (承上启下的过渡句,这种考之前都应该准备好的)

To begin with, the practice doesn’t necessarily ensure a delighting economic growth in the recipient countries as it is highly possible the beneficiary countries become over-dependent on the financial aid from the outside and slow down the steps to develop the domestic economy independently (分论点1+理论论证解释说明原因----典型的议论文主题段论证模式).

Moreover, some kinds of foreign aid, which are conditional and purposive, tend to interfere with the internal affairs of the recipientcountry and even hinder the growth of national industry. (分论点2)Last but not least, the effectiveness of the practice is also questionable as the fund supposed to help the people in need more often than not goes to the corrupted officials and benefits little the masses. (分论点3) 上面这一段有个小小的缺憾就是没有用到举例论证,一是为了避免字数过多,二是想到的例子难免跟政治有关(比如台湾的“金元外交”之类的),而雅思考明文规定是不谈政治的.

Conclusion

From the above *ysis, it has to be admitted there are a few benefits in providing financial aid to the poorer countries. Nevertheless, the benefits are evidently dwarfed when being compared with the more problems the practice might lead to. For this reason, I reaffirm my conviction that rich countries’ providing financial support tothe poorer ones is not always a bless. 这种“三对一”结构的文章结尾基本用事前准备好的套句就可以了,当然这些套句一要计划证不是已经被全人民广泛使用的那种而是要确计划语言漂亮,给考官留下一个善始善终的印象.
