雅思口语Part2：童年时家中快乐的事情

Describe a happy family event from your childhood.

what you saw and did
and explain why you remember this event so well.

There are numerous happy events in my life that I can recall and among them, I would like to talk about the time when my family gathered to make the Chung cake for the Tet holiday.

在我的生活中有很多快乐的事情我可以回忆，其中，我想谈谈我的家人聚在一起做春节蛋糕。

The Lunar New Year, or Tet, is a very special traditional holiday in my country. It was probably my most favorite holiday when I was a *all girl as my family had a lot of activities to celebrate this occasion. Among them, making the Chung cake made me excited the most. The Chung cake is made of glutinous rice, green beans and fat pork, wrapped in banana leaves in the shape of a square. I often played with my older brother when my parents prepared the ingredients for the cake. And then, my father lit a *all fire to boil the cake overnight.

农历新年，或春节，是我国一个非常特殊的传统节日。这可能是我小时候最喜欢的节日，因为我的家人有很多活动来庆祝这个节日。其中，做钟蛋糕最让我兴奋。粽子是用糯米、青豆和肥肉做成的，外面裹着一个方形的香蕉叶。当我的父母准备做蛋糕的原料时，我经常和我的哥哥一起玩。然后，我的父亲点燃了一个小火煮蛋糕过夜。

It was perhaps the only time of the year when I was allowed to stay up late. While my family was sitting around the warm fire, my grandmother would tell the old legendary story about the Chung cake to commemorate the filial affection of Lang Lieu prince to his father and remind us of the long – lasting Vietnamese tradition.

这可能是一年中唯一一次允许我熬夜的时间。当我的家人围坐在温暖的炉火旁时，我的祖母会给我们讲一个关于中庸蛋糕的古老的传说故事，以纪念朗寮亲王对他父亲的孝心，并提醒我们越南悠久的传统。

In recent years, my family has not had enough time for making the Chung cake on our own. However, to me, a ready – made Chung cake that we buy from a local market can’t bring the special feeling and replace the taste of a Chung cake from my childhood. I hope that my family can continue our tradition in the coming years.

近年来，我的家人没有足够的时间自己做钟蛋糕。然而，对我来说，从本地市场*来的现成的松饼并不能带给我特别的感觉，也不能取代我小时候吃的松饼的味道。我希望我的家人能在未来几年继续我们的传统。
