Do you think we should tell the truth at all times?

I think that while being honest is generally a good thing and people should tell the truth; I have to admit that reality can be more complex and there might be situations in life where it is better or safer to leave the truth unsaid. While telling the truth has the benefit of freeing your conscience and making you more authentic, some people may need to balance telling the truth with being considerate of others. So, since the phrase “at all times” is in the question, my answer has to be no.

How do you know when others are telling lies?

I know someone is telling lies through body language and the logic used to organize his or her statement. Behavioral cues such as the shifting of the eyes, shrugging, and facial expressions can help me identify if the person is lying. The speaker might also intentionally leave out important details or add unnecessary details to the original story or statement. When necessary, I can always take a more active approach by asking someone else about the same issue or adding pressure and make telling the lie more mentally taxing by asking the speaker questions and see their reactions.

Do you think it’s more important to win a game or follow the rules in sports?

I think following the rules in sports is far more important than winning a game. The rules of the game are meant to provide a fair contest and to protect the safety of the participants. While a win is a self-confidence boost, and it gives athletes the motivation to keep going, they should always respect the rules and understand that they represent themselves, their teams, and the image of the sports industry. Without the proper guidance and rules, there will be no fair judgment between the opponents playing the game, and violence may occur anytime.

Sometimes people should tell lies. Do you agree?
