Is it difficult or Chinese people to express their feelings?

I think it was difficult for Chinese people to express their feelings, but nowadays it is much better. Although some Chinese people are still hesitating in expressing their feelings, more and more people are starting to realize the importance of that. They start to try to express themselves more, especially on the internet. They started to write about their feelings and comments, instead of just repost news without anything originally written. I think that really is a progress over the years, and I think that’s the right way to go, as I think people ought to try to express.

Who do you think talk more? children or grown-ups?

I think children in general talk more than grown-ups. Grown-ups need to think a lot before saying something, while children don’t have that burden. Kids don’t have those concerns and would just directly speak their minds. Also, when you are a kid, you can express whatever you think about and you don ^‘ t really need to take the responsibility of it, because when you say something wrong or offensive or awkward, people will just laugh it off and say that oh you are a kid and you don ^‘ t understand things. But as an *, you don ⁵ t have such excuse anymore. You take full responsibility of what you say, that’s how many of us talk much less than when we were children.

What’s the difference between males and females in terms of expressing their feelings?

Nowadays I think in general females are better at expressing their feelings. Ifs not that males don’t know how, but I think the society has stricter demands on males in suppressing their feelings. I think, at least in China, males are portraited as strong images. And showing one’s feeling is considered weak in many cases, males in China just would avoid doing it all the time. When it comes to women, ifs a bit different. The society allows women to express their feelings, but when a women want to show that they can be a good leader just like men, they start to hide those emotions.

Why do you think people these days are not that open than those in the post?

I think one of the reasons is that nowadays people don’t live with their friends that often. In the past, people are all familiar with each other living nearby, and then they would be more open in talking with each other. But these days people are busy and usually they are not living in their hometown, they are not really familiar with each other so they are not really open to these people. Also I think we are now living in a much more complicated world than before. You can ^‘ t have those kind of simple relationships with people around you anymore, and with more thinking and considerations, you would naturally express less of what you think before you are absolutely sure you can trust the other guy.
