1. Does weather have any impact on people’s daily activities?

Yes, the weather has a huge impact on people’s daily activities. For one, there are certain activities which people will only do in specific weather conditions. For example, people will normally only play outdoor sports on sunny and warm days, as it is not nice to do outdoor sports in the rain. Furthermore, the weather can impact the *aller choices we make on a daily basis, such as what transport to take to work. If it is cold and rainy, we may choose to drive instead of walk.

2. Why do people do different kinds of sports in different weather?

People do different kinds of sports in different weather because some sports are not suitable for certain weather conditions. For example, golf is a sport that can only be played outdoors and is very affected by strong winds and bad rain. Therefore, people only play golf on nice sunny days. In contrast, tennis and badminton are often played on indoor courts and therefore are good to play on cold and rainy days. Thus, people play what sport is most suitable for the current weather.

3. What kinds of weather do Chinese people like?

In China people prefer when the weather is warm and mild （温和的）.China is a very large country and there are colder regions in the north and much warmer regions in the south. In both areas people prefer when the weather is not too extreme, so not too hot and not too cold. Also, nobody really likes to be out in the wind or the rain. Therefore, Chinese people like it most when it is warm and mild.

4. Do people talk about weather when they meet for the first time?

It is often a very conventional （传统的，惯例的）thing for people to discuss the weather when they meet for the first time. At first, this seems like slightly strange behaviour. However, the weather is something that we all experience and we all have similar opinions on, so it actually makes quite a lot of sense for people to discuss it when they first meet. I believe people talk about the weather with strangers because it is a safe common ground （共同点）upon which to start a conversation.
