1. What kind of books do children read?
I think children like reading books about fairy tales. This is because fairy tales499 usually have interesting and happy plots500. Children can imagine a lot when they read them. They also love books that have a lot of pictures, like comics or photos. As far as I know, most children don’t like words actually, so a lot of them love reading picture books.

2. What kind of books do *s read?
Well, it really depends on the person. I’ve found that a lot of women love reading romance books501,while more men like reading how-to books and historical novels. Generally, I guess *s like books that are about real-life topics and issues. I don’t think they’re interested in things that are completely made up, like fantasy.

3. When it comes to cultivating children’s reading habits, who are more important – teachers or parents?
Well, it’s tough to say. I actually believe both parents and teachers have important influences on children. But talking about cultivating children’s reading habits, I think parents are more important. Teachers can give students advice about what books they should read, but they can’t force children to read. So parents have more of an influence in their children’s lives. For example, they can read with their children or buy books their children like. In this way, parents can make sure their children are reading regularly.

4. Which is more beneficial – reading books or watching TV and films?
Well, in my opinion, reading books is more beneficial. Part of the reason is that502 I love reading books more than watching TV and films. I suppose reading books helps teach people critical thinking skills503. The information from TV and films usually doesn’t make you think as hard. But with books, you usually have more room504 for thinking, and you can also exercise your imagination more.

5. How should parents encourage their children to read books?
I think parents can encourage their children to read books in lots of ways. One of the easiest and most important ways is to read books with them at an early age. For example, parents can read bedtime stories to their children before they go to sleep. That way, the child will love stories in books and become interested in reading. I know this because it worked on me505.

6. What do you think about bedtime stories?
It seems to me that bedtime stories can be a very important part of someone’s childhood. For example,I’m really close to my mom because she read me lots of stories right before I went to sleep. It was a nice time for us to be close to one another. So in that respect, I think bedtime stories are great for children’s growth. They also help them become interested in stories in books, and help them cultivate reading habits.

7. What are the influences of modern technology on reading habits?
Well, modern technology has definitely changed the way that people read things. Since it’s so easy to access the internet nowadays, more and more people are reading books or news online. Plus, modern technology makes reading cheaper, so people actually read more often than before. I mean, basically, you don’t need to pay to read news on the internet, and e-books are usually dirt-cheap506.
