Topic 15 见过的帅哥/美女

1. Do you think beautiful looks are important to people?
It’s sad, but125 nowadays people are really focused on looks. So attractive people are usually more popular. I know that looks shouldn’t matter too much126, but I have to admit127, I pay more attention to people who look nice. If they’re well-dressed and have nice hair, they make a good impression. Looks can get you far in this world. People tend to help others who look attractive.

2. Is it a good thing that companies use models in their advertisement?
Yeah, I believe it’s a good thing. Using models helps the products look more attractive. If people see models using the company’s products, they can imagine using the products for themselves128. But the downside is that models can make people feel bad about their own looks. If they don’t look as good as the models, they might feel embarrassed and not want to buy the product.

3. What are the disadvantages of being beautiful?
Well, people might think you spend too much time on your looks. For example, I had a friend who was really pretty. Everyone thought she spent all her time on her appearance and didn’t care about anything else. That definitely wasn’t true, but nobody knew that. So I guess people can assume that129 beautiful people are self-centered130. They also might talk to you only because you’re beautiful.

4. Which part of the country is the most beautiful?
Well, China is actually a huge country. There are lots of beautiful natural landscapes131. Every part of China is beautiful in its own way132. I really want to travel all over the country someday. But among all the natural sceneries I’ve been to, the most breathtaking one is the top of Tai Mountain. It’s a really grand mountain. I got to see a sunrise at the top. It was amazing.

5. Which is more beautiful, cultural attractions or natural landscapes?
From my perspective, natural landscapes are more beautiful. Cultural attractions like the Great Wall are cool, but they’re not as breathtaking compared to natural landscapes. After all, they’re just manmade. Natural landscapes are so stunning. I would rather go to an awesome mountain range133 than see a cool building. I also think that being in nature can really help you relax.
