Topic 7 *了却不经常用的东西

1. Can shopping boost an economy?
Yes, I believe shopping can definitely boost an economy. I don’t know much about financial stuff, but I believe shopping helps boost the economy because sales can help grow businesses. When there are lots of businesses, the economy grows and everyone benefits from it. But then again, I’m not an expert on the subject. So I don’t know for sure. That’s just my opinion54.

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of shopping at a mall?
Well, I shop a lot, so it’s easy to think of advantages. The first one I can think of is variety. When you go to a mall, there are lots of different stores to choose from. Plus, shopping at a mall is really
convenient because you don’t have to waste time going from place to place. But shopping malls can get really crowded, especially during the holidays.

3. Which one is more important for buying an item, quality or price?
It seems to me that quality is definitely more important. Sometimes people focus on price because they don’t want to spend too much money. But I think they should focus more on quality anyways55. You want the product to work as well as possible. And if you buy something high-quality, you can save money. That’s because you won’t have to replace it eventually. So it’s a better option in the long run56.

4. Are used items recycled in your country? Is it common?
I’m not too sure, but I think it’s pretty common for used items to be recycled in China. A lot of items
can be recycled and resold for money, such as aluminum cans57, paper, or plastic bottles. And it’s pretty common in China.Actually nowadays more and more people pay attention to environmental protection. So it’s a great thing that we find ways to help protect the environment. I believe recycling is a *all
way for everyone to help share a huge responsibility.

5. Do you pay attention to environmental protection?
Well, I don’t pay much attention to environmental protection. I know that I should, but I just get
distracted by other things. Instead I just try to learn about how I can change my habits to help protect the earth. For example, I use public transportation as much as possible. I also recycle all my used items.It’s all I can do right now58.
