The curve graph has shown a sharp contrast between the changes of the popularity of cinema and television from 1957 to 1974. The admissions for cinema in Great Britain started at 950 million in 1957, and went on a quick decrease ever since and didn’t stop until it got to about 600 million in 1959. However, the decreasing trend merely slowed down rather than altered, and this trend remained steady. Thus cinema admissions eventually hit its bottom of 100 million in the 17 years. The trend for television broadcasting, nevertheless, went all the way up without big changes in slope from 7.5 million in 1957 to 17.5 in 1974. Still, it didn’t surpass that of cinema admissions at the same time. It is quite obvious that an increasing popularity towards television is gradually approaching that of cinema, which has had a declining trend ever since 1957.
