　　I’d like to talk about the time I had to be polite to my neighbor, who’s a creepy old man.

　　Here’s the story.

　　When I was little, I lived on the forth floor of our apartment building. And whenever I passed the second floor, I would see an old man staring at me, sitting on his chair in front of his door. Actually, if you think about it now, it was not a big deal, but back then, I was only… like 6 years old, and I got scared easily. Plus, the hallway was pretty dark, you know, with dim light, which made things worse.

　　Anyway, one day, when I got out of my room, I saw this neighbor sitting on my sofa in the living room. I was frightened! You know, I was like, ‘What?’ I thought, ‘Did I do anything wrong, or am I in trouble?’ I wanted to run back to my room, but you know, it’s not polite to stay in your room when you have a visitor at your home. So I went up to him, and said hello in my trembling voice. I even prepared some snacks for him, but the whole time, I didn’t dare to look him in the eyes. I just forced a *ile, you know. Now I think about it, my facial expression must be really weird.

　　He didn’t stay for long, only about 10 minutes, but for me, it felt like ages.

　　It turned out that he was only here to invite us to his daughter’s wedding ceremony. I was so relieved to hear that.
