Should education and healthcare be free of charge and funded by the government, or should it be the responsibility of the people to pay for these services?

The improvement of the life level due to the economic development has led people to focus more on their spiritual life, with their education and healthcare inclusive, but who has to be responsible for the cost of education and healthcare has been raised onto heated discussion.

Health care and education, two of the basic elements in social life, are always in the concern of the public. Some people suggest that the service in these two fields should be paid by the government and be free to the public; while others believe it to be the duty of the people to pay on themselves. As to me, the coverage on education and healthcare should be made the duty of the government while leaving some special demands to be burdened by individuals.

Government free provision of education and healthcare can demonstrate their responsibility in serving the people. Having fulfilled their obligations to the country in the form of taxes, citizens have the right to enjoy the service in return from the government, with education and health care being the two basic ones. Also, as the duty carrier in promoting social development, by guaranteeing the right of education and health care, the government are enabled to encourage citizens to make more contributions to the society.

Government’s investment on these two fields is beneficial to ensure social equality. Being free of charge, every citizen can take advantage of these social services, without the worries about being treated unfairly due to their lack of social resources, such as their social status and human network. Besides, this will be helpful to reduce the difference between the rich and the poor, at least in these two basic rights, creating a more harmonious social atmosphere.

Admittedly, if the citizens are wealthy enough, or when they demand some special service, or when the government is too limited in its budget, individuals’ sharing some of the cost may also seem to be reasonable. However, rare cases of particular requirements do not represent the general pursuits of the public, and limitation in budget does not free the government of its accountability.

To sum up, government should provide free education and healthcare to the public and pay the cost. Only when people are better educated and healthier in physiques, can the society be more harmonious in atmosphere and dynamic in development.

With the extremely rapid development of the society, increasing young people choose to accept the higher education(此处要点明what is increasing. 建议改为:the number of young people choose to enter the university has increased in order to enhance their competitiveness. )

Yet, it is indisputable that the tuition (FEEs) is (are) really high, and some family(families) cannot afford it, because of which, personally, I insist that it should be a duty of the government to pay the course fees. In my essay, I will talk(discuss) about this topic on twofold.

First of all, it benefits individuals a lot to pay the tuition by the governments.(我认为这里应该是条件句:it benefits individuals a lot if the government pays the tuition fee. Tuition fees pay by government could decrease the burden faced by a family. (AS)We all know(known), studying is not an easy job to every person, and the one who want to have some achievements in the academic areas must pay a great of efforts. There is no reason to require the students, who are trying their best to get a good result in their study, to earn(PAY?) the large sum(amount) of money for their further (university)education. In order to encourage this kind of students to continue to work hard to(and) gain more professional skills to make sure they can lead (to) high quantity lives after their(把THEIR去掉) graduated, it is a vital and effective option for the governments to pay for their tuition (fees, 下同).

More importantly, it (点明what is not only for...)is not only for personal benefit, but also for governments. Owning to the ever-accelerated updating of science and technology, modern societies need much more high-tech talents. That is a quite useful method to drive more young person to pursuit the higher education, and (the same time可以去掉) to give them the belief that they should put their shoulder to the wheel to return the society.

To sum up, paying the cursers is a symbol of society progress. It gives people dwelling in the society a kind of belonging, and makes individuals become more unity. Therefore, I reaffirm that the tuition should be paid by governments.(最后一段看的不是很懂,希望楼主改进)

题目,it is very important that children should study hard at school, time spent playing sports is tme wasted. Do you agree.

We could argue that children go to school to study so that they may become fully productive *s and good citizens. We should ask whether playing sport helps chilren to become better people. If so, sport is not a waste of time.

No sensible person will deny that it is important that students study hard. The school day is broken up so that students can attend classes in different subjects in order to learn what areas they are most likely to enjoy and succeed at in later life. It is very important that the schools offer a wide range of subjects to cater to all the students in their care. After all, the school is preparing the students for life and for the workforce.

However, it is also true that students need more than the knowledge of a subject. They need to know how to work in groups to achieve a mutual goal, how to work as a team. Where better to learn those skills than on the sports field? Any of the team sports involve coordination with other players, understanding and adopting a team mentality. These skills are too useful to be ignored.

Furthermore, it is important that people be healthy, and good health is not so easily achieved in a sedentary society. Sport gets students outside and gives them good reason to run about, thus countering hours spent sitting still.

So although school studies are undeniably important, we should regard time spent playing sport as time we spent.

(30)2008.8.31
Some people think that international travel makes them prejudiced rather than broad-minded. Give the reasons why people fail to benefit from such travel and how to improve the understanding of countries you visit.
可以说,全文应围绕“international travel" "prejuced " "not broad- minded", "fail to benefit""how to improve understanding"这几个关键词展开论述。 Some people think visitors to other countries should imitate local customs and behaviours. Others think the host coutry should welcome cultural differences. Discuss both views and give your opinion. visitors to other countries" "local customs and behaviours" " host country" " welcome cultural difference" 这些关键词,使得大部分考生知道如何“下手”,同时, "Discuss both views and give your opinion."
(31)2008.9.6
Once children start school, teachers have more influence on their intellectual and social development than parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
(32)2008.9.13

Topic:TV
is an essential part of leisure activities in most families. However,
some parents decide not to have a TV set in their homes, in order that
their children will devote enough time to invention and creation. Do you
agree or disagree with this attitude?
As
science and technology accelerates, television, as a powerful
invention, is becoming incredibly popular in people's daily life. People
can be informed of the current affairs and appreciate the affluent
programs at home. It seems to me that television will not whittle
children's creativity as has been exaggerated.
To
begin with, television is an effective means to make children
acquainted with the latest news and enlightens them on the latest
scientific advancement. Television reveals the recent development of
some researches, such as the new computing technology, clone technology
and genetic breakthroughs, which can inspire the imagination of children
and motivate them to conduct relevant experiments, making new findings
and breakthroughs in their familiar fields.

Moreover,
along with the emergence of information technology, the knowledge
presented in textbooks cannot cater for children's curiosity any longer.
Programs like adventures can cultivate children's creativity and the
ability to tackle difficulty. Some scientific, detective and documental
programs, like Discovery and National Geographic, are so enlightening
and fascinating that even little children can be absorbed in. Other
well-chosen programs can initiate teenagers' aspiration to know about
the nature and stimulate their interests in science and technology.
There
is suspicion in some parents' minds that TV might retard their
children's creative ability or restrain kids' imagination because TV
viewers tend to receive information in a passive way instead of
discovering things with their own hands. Although people in the TV
industry have made great efforts to develop various programs, the
outcome is not satisfactory: either the program is too profound to be
understood or the topic is not interesting to attract TV audiences.
Thus, watching TV is hardly a good way to inspire children's creativity.
In many cases, it can draw attention away from their studies and spoil
their school education.
There
are some other ways to stimulate children's creativity, such as
writing, visualizing and prototyping, which can boost the flow of new
ideas. Something as simple as writing deepens every individual's
engagement. This is why all those competitions on breakfast cereal
packets encourage us to write in saying good comments. The very act of
writing makes us more likely to believe it.(稍作修改,用在这里做论据)
Authority
does not have to inhibit innovation but it often does. The wrong kind
of parenting will lead to the regrettable tendency of children to opt
out of team responsibilities that are properly theirs.(稍作修改,用在这里做论据)
In
a word, it is my strong belief that television will not impair
children's creativity as is asserted. Nevertheless, the government and
the whole society should exert to eliminate the unhealthy contents on TV
and ensure the children with a favorable growing environment.
