  1. What do you do in your spare time?

Just do whatever sparks my interest, liking shopping and watching a movie. Sometimes I will hang out with the family, laughing with friends, listening to music and bother my sister/brother/pet.

  2. What do you do to relax?

I would like to listen to music to relax myself, especially soft music. Besides, playing video games with my buddies, going cycling and traveling are also good ways to get myself relaxed when I have too much stress.

  3. How do you usually spend your evenings?

Actually I have to spend all my evenings on my homework, but sometimes I finish it before getting home, so I have plenty of time to watch TV and play on-line games with friends I knew on the Internet.

  4. What do you usually do after work/ after classes?

The biggest part of my after-class-time is always taken by homework. But things get different when weekends come, when I would have fun in my various family activities, including watching TV, going to parks and driving around the city, and sometimes out of the city.

  5. Do you prefer to stay at home in the evenings or do you prefer to go out?

I prefer staying at home because actually nothing outside could arouse my interest in the evenings. People go to Karaoke, parties, movies but none of them attracts me, because I think evenings are to be spent with families.

  6. Do you think modern lifestyles give people enough time for leisure?

No, not really. Life is filled with stress. Modern people live a highly-intensive lifestyle. There are stress and pressures from all directions such as endless bills and mortgage waiting to be paid. What’s more, they have to deal with assertive boss, manipulative colleagues, demanding task, and overtime workload. In my opinion, they are deprived and they don’t even have time to think about relax.

  7. Do you think people today have more time to relax than in the past?

No, I don’t think so. The world runs faster every day, and so are we. New technologies and modern economic system are created to bring us infinite materials and wealth, but at the same time we are spending more and more time seeking for them, forgetting to relax.

  8. Do you think it is important for people to have leisure time?

Yes, I think so. People should find a balance between their work and life. But today they seem to care more about work. Working and studying overtime are nowadays usual to most people. But we should really give more attention to our families, friends and ourselves. We live for ourselves after all, not for our bosses.

  9. Do old people and young people spend their leisure time in the same way?

I bet to differ. As I know, old people have much more leisure time than the young and they can take their time to walk around the neighborhood, play Mah-jongg o Chinese chess, o go dancing. Buy young people doesn’t, they have to make the most of their leisure time, so they often find something interesting to do such as Karaoke, video games and sports.

  10. What do you think are the good points and the possible bad points about having leisure time?

Good things of having leisure time are that we can relax ourselves to get our energy back for the next busy day, and it is a hope for our endless work. But is might also sometimes cool down our enthusia* for work and break its continuity, resulting in a reduce of the efficiency.

  11. How do people in your country spend their holidays?

Decades ago people in my country like outdoor activities such us playing football and basketball. They organized a picnic in the suburban areas or go hiking. But now they refer some indoor activities such as going to the karaoke or just staying at home watching movies, and playing computer games.

  12. Do you like to travel in your holidays?

I love to travel in holidays, especially to places I have never been to before, such as Thailand, Holland and so on. I really enjoy travelling because when you have a change of scenery and a change of environment for a while, it helps you to relax and is good for your health.

  13. If you had a child, what leisure places would you go to with your child?

I would like to take my kids to Canada, specifically British Columbia, Vancouver and areas in that region, I have been to Niagara and I have seen some of the great lakes but for me the scenery of the west coast is amazing, the mountains, rivers lakes and trees are breathtaking, the people are really friendly, with a simple and slower way of life, how could you not enjoy being there.

Suspended Coffee?

How about buying a cup of coffee for someone you’ll never meet? It may sound like the latest trend in showy barista techniques, but a "suspended coffee" is much more heartwarming than a snazzy latte.

Born in the cafes of Italy’s southern city of Naples, the "caffe sospeso" (which literally means “suspended coffee”) is a tradition in which someone pays in advance for an extra cup or two, which can then be consumed by a coffee-drinker-in-need later in the day.

  “待用咖啡” 的意大利语是caffe sospeso,这个传统起源于意大利南部城市那不勒斯的咖啡馆,在那里人们可以提前多*一两杯咖啡,给其他可能比较贫困的咖啡爱好者享用。

A customer-in-need can then later ask if there is a “suspended coffee” available and have a hot drink without having to pay for it.

The idea has become an international internet sensation with coffee shops in Europe and North America participating in the movement. The Facebook page alone has more than 28,000 “likes.”

The tradition of “suspended coffee” is a long-standing tradition in Italy that increased in popularity after the Second World War. Agence France-Presse reported last week that the practice was starting to take hold in other European countries hit hard economically. More than 150 cafés in Bulgaria were taking part.

  “待用咖啡” 在意大利有着悠久的传统,从二战开始慢慢流行起来。法新社上周报道称,在欧洲经济受到重创的情况下,这个传统在其他欧洲国家也渐渐固定下来。在保加利亚超过150家咖啡馆加入进来。

At cafes that participate in the custom, customers can ask if there are any “suspended coffees” available, and if so, they are supplied with a beverage, thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
