口语评分标准中的词汇（lexical resource）是考察烤鸭们在对话中使用词汇量的多少以及使用词汇的准确性。

事实上，词汇一直是很多烤鸭们的心病！在教学过程中，常常可以碰到这样的情况：学生碰到某些话题有很好的想法和思路，对于应该说一些什么样的话也有很好的把握，但是由于自身词汇量的不足，感觉难以表达。

另外，还有一些学生有这样的疑问：怎样在口语中展现自己的词汇量呢？要多用一些难词和大词么？还是找一些别人都想不到的生僻词来用？

实际上，在日常生活中，我们并不会使用大量的词汇。那么，准备口语相关词汇的时候，我们的问题到底在哪里？在考试中，我们究竟应该怎么做才能充分展现自己的词汇，抓到分数呢？接下来我们会就烤鸭们对于口语中应用词汇的一些问题做出分析。

问题一：反复使用同一词汇

这类问题通常出现在基础比较薄弱的学生中。由于词汇量的有限，也想要避免使用不熟悉的词汇出现错误，在口语考试中，常常缺乏词汇的变化，也就是说，过多的使用某些词汇。像because, beautiful, like等用的比较滥的词，而不会用其他的词去替换它。

比如说到喜好，如果每一个考生在考试过程中都在用like，那么考官听得多了，一定不会给很好的分数。而我们学过的，还有很多词都是可以表达喜好的，比如enjoy, be interested in, be fond of, be crazy about，这些都可以给考官带来焕然一新的感觉。

问题二：展现词汇要靠大家都想不到的难词、大词和名言警句

就这一点来讲，烤鸭们需要走出一个误区：词汇越难越偏，使用的名言警句越多，考官自然会对自己刮目相看，分数也就自然会上去。其实，考官需要的并不是这些。刚刚我们提到过，在生活中我们使用难词和大词的机会并不多。

因此，在口语这项考察交流的考试中，考官当然不希望总是听到他一辈子都很难使用到地词汇。但是，并不是说名言警句和大词难词不能用。雅思(课程)口语的词汇首先讲究的是适用性、准确性，如果谈到合适的话题也可以适当穿插，但并非必要。词汇一定用你熟悉的，一定是自己能驾驭的，即使简单点儿也无所谓。

问题三：要找到最适合的那个词

很多烤鸭们在说英文的时候，都会碰到这样的状况：需要表达某个特定意思，总想要找到"最恰当"的那个英文词汇，于是陷入苦思，甚至因此而纠结的中断说话。实际上，我们在口语中根本没有那个"最恰当"的词汇，或者说我们根本没没有必要去纠结什么才是"最恰当"的那个词。

　　How do you usually spend your evening and with whom?
　　There are many different ways I spend my evenings, from hanging out with a few friends in a bar to asking my girlfriend out for a nice dinner, from surfing on the internet at home to enjoying the fellowship of my family before TV. Anyway, there are always things to do in evenings for me.
　　虽然没有必要事无巨细，但是在这里运用排比的修辞，不但可以增强语气，还可以同时向考官展示自己对英文深层次的运用。
　　Do you like to go out in the evenings and with whom?
　　Well, it really doesn’t matter to me. If I’m in the mood of going out, I’ll go out, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. But if I’m not in the mood of going out, I’ll just stay home. Maybe I’ll go to bed early.
　　本题问的是晚上外出，考生在回答问题的时候还要注意理解题目。
　　What do people today usually like to do after work?
　　It really depends on individual preference. Most people go straight back home after work to enjoy family in China. But there are always exceptionals. I know a few people who are afraid of going back home after work. (Whisper) You know why? Their wives are very ill-tempered. They are afraid of them.
　　该题目给出的答案运用了幽默的因素，但是并不是每个考生都一定要试图给出考官一个非同寻常的答案。重要的是把问题回答清楚。
　　What do you like to do after work?
　　Well, though from time to time I do different things after work from hanging out with a few friends in a bar to having a nice dinner somewhere. In most of the cases, I would just like to go straight back home after work to enjoy the fellowship of my family.
　　下班后的生活一般有两大类，一类围绕自己的家庭，如回家，另一类围绕朋友或者同事，如酒吧，餐馆等。
　　What do you do in your spare time? How do you arrange your spare time?
　　As a matter of fact, I have very little spare time these days. My studies are so important to me that I have given up all my other activities. For example, I used to love playing tennis, but these days I simply do not have the time. In addition, I used to swim often, as I believe it kept me fit without the danger of being injured.
　　Well, these days, I surf on the Internet in my spare time. I have just bought my first computer, and love to look for exciting web sites that I have not known before. It is of course very time-consuming, so I don’t really have time for anything else. I have to mention that it is an educational activity. For example, by means of web cams (video images from cameras set up at certain places) I am able to watch what wild animals are doing in many parts of the world. I particularly like to watch the polar bears playing with their cubs.

　　What do Chinese people do in their spare time?
　　It really varies according to people’s age, gender and many other factors. However, generally speaking people in China like to hang out with friends or do some outdoor activities in their spare time.
　　Do you think spare time is important to you?
　　Yes, it definitely is. I just can’t imagine a life without any spare time. Anyway, everyone’s life needs a little bit of seasoning and switch-off from the daily routines.
　　Do you feel lonely if you stay at home for a long time?
　　I guess so. I am very much a social being. I need to talk to people, spend time with people. I just can’t stand being alone for a long time.
　　Actually, I enjoy spending being alone during the week—I am lone ranger. But on the weekends, I’m eager to reconnect with others and to share joyful and fun times together.
　　作出肯定或者否定的回答后，要自然的给出孤独或不孤独的原因，这样比等待考官追问要好。
