There are many interesting places in and around my hometown, where many people go to, like parks, malls, etc.Here I would like to talk about an interesting place, which is not so popular.

Not many people visit this place，It is a farm stay at about an hour’s drive from my hometown.

It is called Farmer’s villa. It is in one of the villages that falls on the national highway 44, on the way from Phagwara to AmritsarIt offers all the modern facilities and comforts for the tourists/visitors. At the same time it offers an opportunity to experience the Punjabi culture. They offer Cooking classes for traditional Punjabi dishes. The farms there are organic and no chemicals are used. They offer walks around the village and also rides on tractors in farms. It is not very well known because not many people from the cities around this village know about it.

Mostly foreign tourists stay at this farm to experience the Punjabi culture. I haven’t yet visited this place but I plan to go there with my family soon and stay there for a couple of days.

I have heard that it is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city

I think it would be a very nice weekend get away for my family and me. We can all spend quality time with each other there and also get in touch with our roots and culture.

I 雅思口语教学的课堂活动 在雅思口语现实学习过程中，学生的个性特点是决定其完成教学目标的重要参考因素。换言之，对于错误表达“甘冒风险”的学生在情感上更加主动，练习的机会也会相对其他学生高出很多。同样的，在语法错误或是表达方式上过于多虑的学生会相对处于弱势，他们的用语会明显缺乏流利。“保守”使用语言的学生在整个学习过程中要花费更加长久的时间去建立自信，完成任务。而从另外一个角度去看，那些“保守”会话的学生在一段时间的练习之后，对话过程中的语法结构等错误会相对减少，这也使他们对于英语的语言能力产生自信。这个问题就是口语教学过程中“数量”（quantity）与“质量”（quality）的区别。两种目标从本质上说都没有错误。然而，如果说语言学习的本质目的在于交流（communication），那么课堂教学过程中强调“数量”的目的就应该变得更为切实。因此在实际教学过程中，教师应当打破学生“平静”的课堂状态，提供更多语言表述的场景和表达机会，使交流的目的得以实现。而在遇到语言障碍影响交流的情况下，教师应当选择性、代表性地进行纠正，间接完成“质量”的要求。 口语教学与语音（pronunciation）教学及语法（grammar）教学有着密切关系没，两者共同作用实现高效的语言表达能力和语言交流功能。在授课过程中，语法教学或是阅读教学往往与口语教学关联。也就是说，学生在讲述某一话题之前，需要一定的阅读储备。其中包括对于未知话题的基本介绍引入，以及话题的范例（model）或是提纲（outline）等。范例在讨论型的课堂活动中并不适用，而对于此类课堂来说，学生需要明确的指示，即完成目标的方法。 口语课堂活动可以包括模仿（imitating）或是重复法（repeating），回答口头提示（answering verbal cues），对话（interactive conversation），陈述展示（oral presentation）等。所有的活动在一定程度上又会与听力有着密切的联系。例如，在口语基础阶段的第二节课上我会介入人物描述这个主题。将全班学生分成AB两组，让他们分别饰演警察（police officer）和目击证人（witness）的角色。警察首先被请出教室，目击证人则在教室中观看罪犯的照片。在两分钟的时间内思考罪犯的大致特征，从年龄，脸部特征，身材，衣着等方面着手。在目击证人对罪犯进行描述之前，我会提供人物描述的句式结构，然后要求警察组同学回到教室。之后提供警察组同学提问的句式，让他们和目击证人展开讨论，最终画出罪犯的大致模样。在整个过程中要求学生只能使用英语会话，且目击证人不能参与画图。完成这个活动之后，我再要求警察根据自己所画的罪犯去寻找和区分真正的罪犯模样，并给出人物描述的相关单词和句式。这个活动趣味性非常大，涉及到的内容又相当充实，为学生所喜爱。这类活动还涉及到信息沟的使用（information gap），它可以使学生用英语交流的兴趣大大提升，同时也能帮助教师高质地完成教学目标，因此为广大口语教师推崇。其具体的分支活动有调查，讨论，角色扮演等。
