雅思口语的话题千变万化，但仍可以大概归类为人、物、地、事四大类。

具体来说，人物类可分为老人、小孩、名人、老师、朋友、同时、邻居、家人以及成功的人，人物类的喜好类话题也要准备，比如运动、音乐、电影、阅读、菜肴、交通。物品类分为：邮件、服装、广告、珠宝、发明、玩具以及手工艺品等。地点类分为：住所、购物中心、历史名迹、想去的国家、自然景观、理想的房子、具体的建漏燃筑、餐馆。事件类也可理解为人生经历类，比如：网络购物、一次成功的事情、人生中的重要改变、一个重要的改变、婚礼、小时候听过的故事、一次有趣的旅行等。

值得指出的是，Part 1 和 Part 2 的出题通常比较吵搜念直接，但是 Part 3 的问题会比较有深度，经常要求大家进行探讨大众看法、比较不同、探寻原因等，建升困议大家在同一个话题上也要多角度准备。
