Describe an application(program) you usually use on your phone

Speaking of the app I use most often, it must be Douyin. About two years ago, my good friend Lucy used to watch videos on it and introduced it to me as her favorite app. I started to use Douyin on her recommendation.

Gradually, I found this app was really interesting. Open this software and you can see all kinds of video clips, most of which are only about ten seconds long. Most of them are funny videos, song and dance performances, or travel and food recommendations. The biggest difference between Douyin and other video clips apps is that you don’t have to choose what to watch, instead the system will automatically recommend content to you according to your taste, which is very convenient to use. What’s more important is that the videos are short, which means it won’t take too much time to watch. For example, you can watch it when you take the subway, bus or even go to the toilet. If you have anything to do, you can stop playing it at any time.

I still remember the boring times when most of our citizens were asked to stay at home during the spring festival this year. I learned tons of news about the novel Coronavirus and many other kinds of news from the short clips from Douyin. It has literally replaced newspapers and news as an important way for me to get information. Moreover, through this software, I have learned a lot of new skills I did not know before. It truly broadened my horizon and I gained a lot of useful knowledge from it.

谈到我最常使用的应用程序，那一定是抖音。大概是两年前，我的好朋友lucy经常在上面看视频，并 把它介绍给我，说这是她最喜欢的app。我在她的推荐下开始接触到抖音。

渐渐的我发现这个app实在是太有趣了。打开这个软件你可以看到各种各样的小视频，大多数时长在 几十秒。有搞笑的，有歌舞表演，还有旅行和美食推荐。抖音和其他的短视频软件最大的不同就是， 你不需要选择看什么，系统会自动推荐好玩的内容给你。使用起来非常方便。而且由于视频时长短， 很适合日常使用，比如坐地铁，公交，甚至上厕所的时候都可以看，如果有事可以随时停止播放。

我还记得今年春节大部分市民被要求呆在家里的无聊时光。通过抖音的短片，我了解了大量关于新型 冠状病毒的新闻和各种各样的新闻。它已经取代了报纸和新闻，成为我获取信息的重要方式。而且， 通过这个软件，我掌握了很多我以前不知道的技巧。它确实拓宽了我的视野，我学到了很多有用的知识。
