1. Which phone app is the most popular in your country?

I think the most popular phone app in my country is Douyin. Although We Chat is definitely the most used app in China I think Douyin is more popular because people find it more fun. Douyin is an app that lets people create or watch very short videos. These videos are normally very entertaining, they are always either funny or exciting. Furthermore, Douyin has also become a place where people share news and information, so it is also very informative. Therefore, I think Douyin is becoming one of the most popular apps in my country.

2. Do you think parents should limit the time that their children spend on the phone?

I think parents should limit the time that children spend on their phone, but that is becoming difficult nowadays. There are many important life skills and qualities that children have to learn that they cannot learn on their phones. So, it is important for parents to limit the time their children spend on their phones and encourage them to go out an experience the world. However, so much of modem culture is now online that many children feel they need to spend a lot of time on their phones to stay up to date.

3. Do you think people should depend on phone apps to much?

I think a lot of people depend on phone apps nowadays but I do not necessarily think this is a negative thing. Phone apps have greatly improved quality of life and have provided us with a lot of ease and services. For example, I have many friends who depend on things such as map apps to help them get around the city. But before, if you did not know how to get somewhere you would need to find a map or ask for directions but nowadays you can search on your phone and find directions in seconds.

4. Do you think some apps will help people to study?

I think some apps will help people study, but some are great distractions. Obviously, there are a lot of apps that distract people from study, such as Douyin, but there are also some which are great study aids. For example, there are very good apps that help you practice and learn foreign languages. These encourage people to study and offer easy and fun ways to do so. There are even apps nowadays which stop you using your phone for a set amount of time so you can’t get distracted!
