I would like to tell you an occasion when my neighbor renovated his building which is next to my house the last weekend. The noise of drills, hammer, other power tools, and the shout from workers were extremely bothering to me.

I heard that there had been some problem with water leaking in their house, thus, they needed torip the floor out to find the problem of water pipe system hidden inside. Besides, they also took that chance to re-decorate their house. That’s why the noise of hammers, saws, drills seemed endless on the whole day. Because the owners didn’t have much time off from work, they had to begin very soon in the morning. I must say that the staccato hammer drill at the crack of dawn woke up all of citizens in the neighbour, and prevented us from going back to sleep again. As my house is next to theirs, I almost could feel that the walls shook and it drove meinsane.

Though being so bothered by the noise, I couldn’t do anything but for standing it, hoping it could end as soon as possible. After 2 hours, I nearly went crazy with that noise, so I called up my friends and asked them out for cafe and shopping.

And for a girl who has never been far away from home, studying in a foreigncountry might bring out my independent nature. But I need to give it some careful thoughtbefore I could make the decision. I told my parents who are both open-minded about my plan,and they were pretty supportive, but they also pointed out some disadvantages. My mom toldme that being in a new place by myself could be overwhelming sometimes, and it tests myability to adapt to diverse situations. And it’s highly possible that I would feel lonely andhelpless every so often, because all of my close friends and family members are on the otherside of the world. I would be completely on my own, and basically everything I took for grantedin the past would then be a challenge, like paying bills, opening bank accounts,communicating with fellow students, and the list goes on and on.

All of a sudden, I felt stuck. All those challenges sounded terrifying, but I really didn’t wantto give up the opportunity. I weighed up the pros and cons carefully, and after some seriousconsideration, I finally made up my mind. So here I am. / So I believe this conversationreally means a lot.
