Describe a photo of yourself that you like.
You should say:
When and where this photo was taken
Who took this photo
What you were doing when the photo was taken
And explain how you felt about this photo
范文:
The photo I would like to describe is a scenic, which was just taken by my phone. Although this photo is just a normal scenic, it was taken in a special place, which is on helicopter. In summer holiday last year, my roommate and I decide to go to America for a one-month travelling. When we arrived there, we heard from local that Grand Canyon is the most famous attraction in California. People living there suggested us that viewing canyon scenery from sky was the best choice. And we felt really moved and interested in their words. So we immediately booked tickets for sky tour of Grand Canyon. Originally, I planned to enjoy the first time of the sky tour, but actually the helicopter shook heavily and it was difficult to take any photos during flying. This made me dizzy. You know, I looked outside the window and enjoyed views by eyes without taking any photos. Luckily, after we got off from the helicopter, my roommate told me that she used her phone, taking a photo for me. The photo has splendid background of the whole Grand Canyon and I was looking at the window. I love this photo and use it as my desktop until now.
Part 3
Do Chinese people like to take photos of themselves?
Yes, they do. With the popularity of phones, many Chinese people like to use their mobile phone camera to take photos of themselves. It has become the most prevalent way to show people’s personality. For example, some college students take creative photos of themselves to mark their graduation and put these photos online, which has attracted a lot of attention.
What kind of devices do people like to use for taking photos these days?
Most people prefer using mobile phones to take photos. Some people no longer use their digital cameras to take photos as they did before, because they find that mobile phones have more advantages when taking photos. For example, it’s easy to use. You can delete the photo and take another one if you feel dissatisfied. What’s more, after you take a photo, you can share it on social platforms at once.
Why do some people like to delete photos?
One likely reason is that maybe people feel dissatisfied with these photos, so they choose to delete them and take new ones. There may be other reasons. For instance, previous research has shown that some people lack the sense of security, so they like deleting photos or removing their personal information.
Why do some people like to keep photos?
People usually keep photos as souvenirs. For example, some people work far from home,so they keep a family photo with them. When they are homesick and miss their families, the photo may bring them comfort.
Has the way people take photos changed?
The last decade has seen a great change about the way people take photos. In the past, camera was the only device for taking photos. At that time, people seldom take photos except for taking family photos. While nowadays people around the world use mobile phones as their primary method of taking pictures, and they usually take photos of themselves.
Home/House/Apartment
Do you currently live in a house or a flat/apartment?
I live in a flat not far from the town center.
I currently live in a 300-square-meter house in the southern suburb of the town.
考生要理解flat/apartment与house概念上的差异。
Can you describe your house/flat?
Sure. The flat has 6 rooms—one living room, one kitchen, one bathroom and three bedrooms for my parents, my brother and myself. The extra one is for the guest who would come to stay with us.
What main items of furniture or appliances do you have in each room?
There aren’t many things in my home. To begin with, there is pla*a TV with two surrounding speakers on each side in the living room. In front of it are a coffee table and a set of couches arranged in a half circle. There are also, of course, a few pieces of decorations in the corners and on the walls of the living room. In the bedrooms there is really nothing special, but only beds. However, in my parents’ room there is another TV and in mine, a desktop computer, because, you see, I have to work on my computer everyday.
Is it a typical house/flat in your city?
Yes, it is. You’ll find tons of flats/houses like this in my city.
Not really. I don’t think most people can afford a big house/flat like this one.
What kind of house or flat do you want to live in in the future?
Well, I would prefer a new flat in the town center. It doesn’t have to be very big, but definitely has to be nice and cozy.
I’d like to have a big house with a beautiful garden in front for myself. You see, I always wanted to live in a house, to enjoy the big space and privacy it provides. But, of course, I also have to think in terms of my affordability before I make my final decision.
Do you like the decoration in your home? Why or why not?
Are you kidding? From the wallpaper selection to paintings I drew by myself, from the flowers on the table to other decorations in the corner, I made all these all by myself. I love them.
No. I am not very satisfied with the decoration in my home, because I always feel there is something missing. Maybe I need something to put in the corners.
Will you move to another house or flat in the near future?
Yes, definitely. The one I’m currently living in is too old. The paint is peeling off; the wall is not soundproof enough; and worst of all, the sewage system in the building is just annoying—it always gets stuck, letting wastes drift everywhere in the corridor. Just imagine how terrible the scene looks. So I must move out of there as soon as I find a suitable one.
No. I’m comfortable with the house I’m living in now. It is big enough for my whole family and still close enough to the town center, making it all convenient for commutation to schools, offices and shops. So I’m not going to move.
What kind of house/flat are you going to move into?
Well, I would definitely like to move into a bigger flat, one that has a separate study room and a bigger living room for my new home theater system.
I am going to moving into a *all house. Though it is not my ideal house and has only 4 rooms, it is definitely cheaper than the flat I’m currently living in, because it is located in the community in the suburb. And it is safer.
What do you think of the area in which you live?
It is a great neighborhood with great environment and facilities. People are friendly; *all parks are everywhere; and there are also sports facilities free to use. I like the place where I live.
I am not very satisfied with the area in which I live. The major reason is it is too densely populated. There are not enough parking lots. It is always hard to get one. When it comes to the public facilities, you won’t have a chance to lay your hands on it, for they are always being used by others.
How long have you lived there?
I’ve lived there for 4 years. It’s been a great living experience: great neighborhood, great people, and great facilities.
I haven’t lived there for long. But I don’t really like the neighborhood, because people are too aloof. For a person like me who enjoys close friendship with neighbors, it is just nightmare.
What are your neighbors like?
Since I live in a house in a less populated suburban area, there are only a few neighbors in the area where I live. But they are all great people, people who are always ready to help.
There are a lot of people living in my neighborhood. Some are really great people, while some others are just strange.
