下面，我们通过今年1-4月的口语穗缺粗话题，来给各位烤鸭们做个示范，展示一下到底应该如何讲故事。

Describe a special day that you went out but didn’t spend much money
You should say:

解读：这个题目是要求描述特殊的一天，但是并没有花什么钱。首先看到这个题目，大家脑子中就必须清晰的了解这个故事可不能扯什么开party过生日啊，去迪士尼啊，或者去哪里旅游啊等等，因为这些事情都得需要钱来解决。但同时又必须还是特殊的一天，所以这一天一定是非常有意义的，否则又没有任何意义，又没法花钱玩的爽，那这一天就不会特殊，更没有什么说的价值。这里对于这个话题，我们选择的素材就是年轻时候庆祝认识女朋友一周。为什么要年轻？因为那时候没什么收入，没钱。假如都工作了，庆祝周年纪念还不花钱的话，岂不是得被骂死？这个素材的选择还有一个理由就是扮巧意义。任何事物的尝试的第一次都是极有意义的。所以，这里选择的是跟前女友一周年纪念日。好了，这就是我们这个题目选材的框架。下一步是什么？圆。对，把这个故事给说圆了，说完整了。这时候，大家可以参考刚才的自我欺骗的方法想想看，如果我们想要听这样的一个故事，需要知道怎样的细节呢？

Well, the special day I am going to share with you is my first anniversary with my ex-girlfriend, when I was in the final year of my senior high school. Wow, now as I think about it, it was eight years ago. Time really does fly, doesn’t it? Anyway, we were living in the boarding school and everybody else was working their neck off, you know, to prepare for the college-entrance examination. The school teachers were worse than cops, keeping an eye on every student and literally banging on our heads the moment we slacked a bit. So my girlfriend and I didn’t really have chance to spend time together as a couple. But I was well aware of what would be waiting for me if I failed to celebrate the anniversary with her. So, on that very morning, we got up really early and snuck out of campus when the guards at the gate were changing duty. Yup, it’s precisely like what you see in movies, only better. Then, I took her to a large expanse of grassland, about twenty minutes’ walk from the campus. The place was ghostly quiet, one could hardly spot anyone else within a 2-mile radius. But that makes it a perfect place for couples on a date. As a student, because of the tight budget, I couldn’t take her to a fancy restaurant or Disneyland, where she always fancied. So to make it up to her, I decided to make this most memorable birthday for her by being the most romantic guy in the world. I took out all the love letters I previously wrote to her but kept neatly in an envelope and read it out loud to her in a way that sounded like a romantic poet.
Well, that lasted for a couple of hours, coz honestly, there is a whole pile of letters and she listened intently and never tried to interrupt me.
As night descended, we laid down on the grassland, cuddling her in my arms, staring at the starry night, talking a lot about our future together.
If you are wondering how we managed to sneak back to campus without being noticed, well, we didn’t. Of course the teachers found out and I was almost killed by my head teacher. But to be honest, at that moment, I felt it’s all worth it.
Don’t ask me why we broke up, let’s just say our destinies are not bound together. We will just leave it at that, shall we?

这是老师总结的一个月口语复习技巧，做半个月也实用的。
其实越到复习的最后阶段，越应该把有限的时间投入到能产出最大效果的事情上去。按照国外雅思培训理论，雅思总分平均每提高1分，需要至少200小时的课堂英语学习时间，那么短短一个月的时间即使每天上8个小时的英语课也不过才240个小时。看来，通过答滚亏冲刺让雅思总分再提高1分的可能性不大，但如果规划合理，总分在原来的基础上提高半分或单项提高1分都是很有可能的，而这种情况是由雅思考试的评分标准决定的。

由上图可以看出，如果考生现有水平是6分，那么他只要保持住听力的分数，阅读、口语都各自提高0.5分，写作提高1分，那么一个月后的总成绩就会达到6.5分，而 6.5分在中国是个相当不错的分数，100个人里面只有约20个人能获得6.5及以上的分数。这个图把总分压力分解到各个分项，使每个分项的得分目标在一个月内可以实现，大事化小。
下文我们以口语为例，看看单项考试成绩如何在短期内突破0.5～1分。雅思口语有四个评分标准，分别是：流利度和连贯性、词汇、语法、语音。在现有基础上提高半分的话只要在四个标准中的一个方面做得突出一点就可以了。那么就口语复习而言，四个标准中哪个比较容易出现亮点呢？哪个值得在短时间多投入些精力呢？接下来笔者将按照“投入产出比”由大到小的顺序列出我们在最后一个月里最应该做的事情。

活动一：从考前两个月的题库中抽出有代表性的15个话题进行准备
目 标: 极其熟练，几乎可以脱口而出，增加流利度
投入产出比: ★★★★★
考生们可能都会有这样的感觉：如果题目自己熟悉，那么可能说得就会顺畅一点，流利度自然就高。因此尽可能多地熟悉题目仍是短期内要做的最重要的事。
雅思口语的话题具有一定的稳定性，月与月之间的重复率很大，因此考生不需要再找出过去几年的题目来准备，只要手头有考前两个月的话题卡就够了。新题也会出现，但比例不大。就2007年全年而言，新题只占到30%, 因此大家千万不要为可能出现的新题清神而烦恼，把时间花在担心上还不如把自己能把握的题目准备到可以脱口而出。
为什么要准备“有代表性”的题目呢？原因很简单：时间有限。雅思口语有五大类常考话题：人物、地点、有形物品、抽象物品、活动经历。考生可以从前两个月的题库中每一类都挑出两三道进行练习，准备到“极其熟练”，以期这些精心准备的题目能发挥“以一当十”、 “一招鲜，吃遍天”的作用。在考试极其紧张的情况下，没有准备到“极其熟练”的话题是经受不住现场考验的。

活动二：每天狂练10个词汇或词组
目 标: 300个词汇可以随时调出用于口语表达
投入产出比: ★★★★★
很多考生在考完之后都会抱怨词汇量不够，但词汇量真的不够吗？2006年剑桥大学考试委员会出版的IELTS Scores Explained一书中有十多个面试录像，下表里列出的词汇是录像中被考官评为 “less common”(7分及7分以上词汇的最主要标志)的词汇。

是不是很简单？很多考生甚至会觉得难以置信，但这的确就是雅思考试的标准。因此在考试短短的11～14分钟内，考生只要把自己掌握的一些类似的词汇或词组巧妙地表达出来，就可以取得词汇的高分数了。就像最高明的厨师一样，他的才干不在于能用最棒的原材料做出美味，而在于利用手头的有限材料做出像模像样的美食来。
有些考生又会问，这些词自己都认识，但为什么一到考试的时候就只能用一些特别幼稚的词汇呢？原因只有一个，这些词都被存到了大脑的移动硬盘里，而没有储备在内存里，调出的速度太慢，越是最需备橡要的时候越调不出来。对此，最好的解决方法就是“狂练”。所谓“狂练”，就是深度练习，即用这个词汇或词组进行造句，不止是造一句话，而是至少造五个例句，还要把它和你所熟悉的事物联系在一起进行练习，以强化记忆。比如在准备人物题的时候学到了elegant和 intelligent两个词，如果你把它们列为今天需要深度练习的词汇，那你就应该尽可能多地用这两个词形容你所熟悉的人，比如说自己的老板40来岁，非常elegant and intelligent，自己的老师也同样优雅而睿智，电视节目主持人杨澜也是如此等等。多一次练习，考试时熟练运用的可能性就增加一成。但每天这样练习的词汇不要贪多，试想一下，如果每天能把自己准备口语过程中使用到的漂亮词汇或词组挑出10个进行深度练习，一个月的时间就可以掌握300个词或词组了，哪怕这 300个中只有100个在考试时用到了，也是不小的成就，词汇得分提高1分肯定能实现了。

活动三：练习语调和重音
目标: 说英语时要抑扬顿挫
投入产出比: ★★★
很多考生误以为口语得高分需要漂亮地道的语音，漂亮地道的语音固然好，但一个月的时间里有可能变得“字正腔圆”吗？难度很大，而且也没有必要。口音并不可怕，也不是考官最关注的东西。让我们一起来看看8分语音的要求：uses a wide range of phonological features to conveymeaning effectively，何为phonological features(语音特征)？其实说简单点就是说话时要有起伏，有节奏感，有重音，这些特征在最后一个月的时间里是可以通过强化练习来获得的。具体如何练习呢？大家只要记住两个原则：说英语时语调可以夸张一点；每句话都尽量有1～2个重音，重音的位置放在自己最想强调的词上。
大家在准备15个话题卡的时候，可以顺便把语调特征加上去，比如在自己写的答案上标出每句话的重音，这样每次练习或朗读时都可以看到这些标识，从而提醒自己语调的起伏。比如说下面几句话都有可能是准备话题时用到的一些句子：
● It’s not that difficult to play.
● It's a lovely view indeed. The air has become cleaner. It feels fresh and nice.
● Today internet shopping is a significant part of the retailsector in China.
很明显，第一句话中的that可以重读，第二句话中的 lovely和fresh都应该说得重一些，而第三句中的副词really、名词retail和China都应该重读，today和internet之间，part和of之间，以及sector和in之间都要有点小停顿，这样说话更有英语的语调。考生可以每天拿出30分钟的时间，集中、反复地练习，哪怕一开始听上去很怪，但要坚持下去，记住：夸张要比平淡好得多。

活动四：练习语法
目标: 减少语法错误，增加复杂语法比例
投入产出比: ★
语法的练习应该是在备考雅思最初阶段注意的问题，到了最后一个月再来突击意义不大，因为在紧张状况下，语法通常处于失控状态。如果最后一个月有什么与语法相关的练习可以做的话，就是在每个话题卡的答案中设计3～4处复杂语法，并且反复练习使用，这样在考试时如果能用到的话，是可以增加语法的复杂性的。
综上所述，在时间有限的情况下，口语也是可以突破 0.5～1分的，但从实用的角度来看，准备若干拿手题目、狂练有限词汇是“正道”，回报率是最大的。语调也是一个突破口，而语法只能列为最费力不讨好的了，因此应该尽量把语调与语法的练习安排在前期准备阶段。
